With skinny bigs, it is about how they play. Tisdale shyed away from contact and preferred the perimeter. Myers was cocky and liked to bang down low. Castleton is in the middle but closer to Leonard. Conditt is also in the middle but closer to Tisdale, imo.

It is about aggression. Castleton will struggle at times due to lack of bulk, but im not overly concerned about him. Especially since Underwood will want him at the top of the key quite a bit. He could be a great pick and pop player.

One of the best things about Castleton's highlights is his ability to seal his man well away from the hoop and then effectively track the entry pass over the top while moving, catching and finishing without a dribble. That's something Egwu never learned in four years. Underwood has talked about it in his training videos, setting that pick and then pivoting to seal the defender. Being able to track the pass from overhead or over the defender, and have the athletic ability and balance to reel it in while also positioning yourself to finish (and with a dunk!) will translate well to the B1G.

MI has used 13 scholarships for 2018, so they can still over sign an additional player. They currently have three players 6'10" or taller, two sophomores and a junior. Looking at their roster, I don't see the attraction for either Castleton or THT.

I would hate to lose out on THT because we sign both Conditt and Castleton. Good problem to have, I guess. But it is seeming more and more likely we land Ayo, Nolley, Conditt, Castleton. I'd rather take the two wings and one big but I trust BU.

I rather take Conditt and Caselton. We are solid at the Sg position especially if we add Ayo and Nolley. Conditt may really develop in 2 years, I like the upside.

He's 205 CM's? Isn't that like 9'? :peace:

Pick and pop, Pick and Roil, Pick and seal off defender....can't imagine what BU might see in this kid. Like most others, seems to be the right kind of player for the BU system, which is fluid like it's players yet to play in it...

Take the best player in Ayo/Nolley debateable maybe, plus the other and the 2 Bigs if willing. Then focus on the trio of probably Liddell, Okoro, and 1 other possibly a wing in the next class?:chief:

Uhhhh... based on what? The comments on this board? "It is seeming more and more likely we land" should be replaced with "Illinois is in the running for."

You might want to pump the brakes a bit my friend or you're likely headed for a major letdown. I've seen nothing indicating that class is likely. Possible yes -- likely I don't think so.

If we somehow do land that group, we should all be jumping for joy.

@ACIlliniRyan: Update: #illini staff trying to get Lukas Kisunas OV moved up before Oct 7th. That date isn't set in stone yet. Depending on travel schedule

Being the fact that THT has decided to slow play, I suggested a couple weeks ago it might just be the idea of staff to take the 2 bigs , CC and Conditt, with Nolley, then leave the 4th for Ayo. At that point, should Ayo decide to come along THT is odd man out. Ayo says no, still have a school to give out to the right recruits. Doesn't go with the way we have been thinking, but maybe staff has other plans. ;):illinois:
Still think Spicy G is gonna shock us all.

I've only seen the two highlight videos posted here, and I might be jumping the gun, but I really like this guy. Is he someone we've jumped on because there is doubt about Nolley? Or is it that the staff might want to give him an opportunity to commit before accepting Conditt?

Maybe trying to bunch visits together to pressure at least one of them to pull the trigger so as to not lose their spot? Recruiting has got to be 4D chess.

BU has said he's not going to beg anyone to come here, having more options would give you some leverage.;):illinois:

I have no idea what the recruitment of these Europeans means, but I do know to lose Castleton now would hurt.

We have been on him a long time and have a need. Michigan has been there but came on later in the game and doesn't really have the room or the need.

I've got to think Castleton is on board unless he is just blown away by Ann arbor. The other bigs could be a hedge on Conditt.
