Do not trust twitter.

Well when Castleton posts his "top 2" pic then Nolley calls him "family" and he responds "you already know bro" I'd say they're strongly hinting that they're playing together at the next level.

Recruiting is fluid but unless they're trying to troll Illinois fans hard they are strongly hinting they're suiting up together just without naming the school and we're the only team on both lists.

Also, with Michigan's scholarship situation, I find it hard to see Castleton going there

These kids know where they're going. Yeah, I know things can change last minute but it's all a dog and pony show. Castleton and Jolley tweeting each other this evening? I mean come on.

Not gonna lie, if I was them I'd do the same thing for the attention but I really believe their minds are made up. Just a matter of when they announce it. And I have no clue where they'll be committing.

He is not Leonard 2.0. Lol.

Meyers Leonard's shoulders were about 2 inches wider at the same age and you could tell with his muscle tone he was going to be the kind of kid that could add mass easily. That is a terrible terrible terrible comparison.

I like this kid a lot but he's closer to Mike Tisdale than he is Meyers Leonard.

Just because he is skinny doesn't mean hes more like Tisdale who could barely run or jump. Like someone else said if you look at the mannerisms and style of play its pretty similar to Leonard. I watched a high school video of Leonard right after CC and its not a bad comp. Leonard is obviously bigger and more athletic

Yeah, the kid clearly moves like Leonard.

I don't know how much more of recruiting I can follow. I'm growing weary of all the drama.

Tisdale couldn't run or jump in college because they tried to pack 40 lbs of weight onto his frame where about 3 lbs of it ended up being muscle.

I've watched the long video on Castleton. I watched Leonard in h.s. The comparison is terrible. They're both white and tall. That's pretty much the end of it.

Castleton has skills but Leoneard was a once in a life time athlete at that size and he wasn't extraordinarily skilled at that same stage.

Some finesse guys need to stay finesse guys. Castleton is a guy you might want to throw 10-15 lbs on but you throw much more on and he's not going to move like he does now. He just doesn't have the frame for it.

Shove 7000 calories down his mouth and watch his weight jump up 40 lbs and he won't move remotely like that anymore. Thank god we have Underwood and Fletcher here instead of the guys who handled Tisdale. Our s&c program was a joke and now it's one of the best in basketball.

Anyone feel that Liddell will commit early (this fall)? Think he's been an Illini lean forever and he's definitely a plan A guy. Obviously, I hope it happens.

I think it's time to lose this site from memory, and come back in a couple months to be overjoyed with the guys who committed. Oh shoot, can't do that, it's too addicting coming here hoping to read we got one.

Anyone know the last year we had no commitments for the next year on 10/1? It would be an interesting fun fact.

This is exactly where I'm at in this. Now I'm saying "dang it" every time I open up this thread and no one's committed.

Is there a more pessimistic fan base? Really don't think so. Yes, we have been plagued by more than our share of recruiting failures and shenanigans. That said, past results...

FWLIW, I feel very good about our chances of reeling in a class of plan A kids. Yep, would love to have some commits by now, but it's out of our control (and staff's too). Should break the ice soon.

Castleton is going to Illinois. It's essentially been done done since the home visit. The only real question is whether Conditt commits first. If he doesn't(albeit unlikely), interesting things happen.

Iggy committing elsewhere is a blessing in disguise. Staff gave up a lot of resources just to keep getting yo 5th place for him. Now they don't have to. At least it was 1 guy and not a lot like previous staffs.

This, a million times. When I saw that, I was able to relax completely about Castleton. I guess this makes Michigan's stable of bigs and stretch bigs pretty crowded. Meyer's CB doesn't bother me a whit.

This is not necessarily true. 10-15lbs on a 6'11" frame is practically nothing. I guarantee if castleton put on 10lbs a lot of folks would still be concerned he'd need to put on size/strength. A guy like Castleton should absolutely be eating big while training for strength & power, especially in his lower body. There's a right way and wrong way to approach gains. If done correctly Castleton can put on plenty of size and move even better.

With skinny bigs, it is about how they play. Tisdale shyed away from contact and preferred the perimeter. Myers was cocky and liked to bang down low. Castleton is in the middle but closer to Leonard. Conditt is also in the middle but closer to Tisdale, imo.

It is about aggression. Castleton will struggle at times due to lack of bulk, but im not overly concerned about him. Especially since Underwood will want him at the top of the key quite a bit. He could be a great pick and pop player.

Maybe you guys can start another thread where you go deep on the weight and muscles of 17 and 18-year-olds so those of us with lower "super internet creep" thresholds can continue going about our business?

Should we run off Nolley Cash35 style for stealing Casleton's thunder? :D
