That has been stated about our last 3 Simeon players. If anything, we've hurt our brand in that regard.

I must be missing who the 3rd is, but Nunn didnt hurt us or cant see how he did, he was the one who screwed up. Tate would't think he hurt things, he played way more then most thought he should, so that has to look good. then im missing the 3rd, I was thinking it would be Turner, who for sure helped how we look in Chicago was a bring along to get BN and the kid did great here. Only thing Hurting us in Chicago or any place is the simple fact we havent been winning

Wow. Didn't take long for THT to set up that announcement after he visited. Obviously wants to get this decision over with. Still don't think we get him, but like where we stand better now than I did a week ago, that's for sure.

I don't think DJ hurt much wrt Simeon. How many times was he in Rob Smith's doghouse. The issues with DJ were apparent in HS as were his flashes of brilliance. He just never put it together. I think RS and Simeon are ok with the situation.

guess its understandable why I forgot about him,LOL but he left on his own so cant blame that on the staff, since he left after Groce was gone.

It's about the perception of Simeon players coming to Illinois. My original point was that the last 3 didn't work out well. Remember, Jaylon Tate didn't play on his senior night. I agree that is on the prior regime, but it still falls on Illinois by association.

I hope you're right. THT will be a good test case.

I made their board!! :D:D I have a feeling they'll just call us out on having an inferiority complex if I provide the long list of stats that show what a better program we've been than them for decades or provide the quite obvious fact that Illinois ranks in the top 15 all-time in the vast majority of metrics you'd use to judge a program from Final Fours to all-time winning percentage, so I will refrain. Everything from their claim that their little "Hilton Magic" had "more excitement" than Assembly Hall circa 2006 (I can't even) to the one guy's claim that there is more interest in NORTHWESTERN in Illinois than UI (it honestly wouldn't shock me if there are as many Illini fans in Evanston as there NU fans, and this is not to mention that we lead the all-time series with our supposed "big brother" 134-40 and 25-7 since 2000) was too ridiculous to even consider anything but blind homerism and hate due to recruiting a mutual player, LOL. Not worth a response. They'll probably get THT, but if they think that says something about ISU and its supposed value, I guess I will let them keep living in the deulsional red dot in Central Iowa that their university matters in...

I still dont believe that hurt us as far as with the people who knew what was what like coach Smith, he was still ok with the Illini , just wasnt happy he didnt get called right off the bat , but they took care of that asap. AYO makes it cool again to be an Illini THT would only make it that much better for the following years one would think any how.

Other then Miller in 2020, is there anyone we are even talking about from Chicago for the next 2 years though ? I know you could count Whitney I guess since he is a fire guy with ties. but not really the same

Seems like a long response for something that wasn't worth a response. :D

I have no idea how upset they were with him leaving, I do recall they were not happy about JCL's decision. But I also thought the BIG now had a rule that all basketball schollies were for 4 years. Did me and Titos vodka just make that up?

Who is this Titos Vodka? Is he an insider?

I would assume we'll start to hear leaks about where he's going after the in-homes begin. Though, even that information can't be completely trusted because there's a possibility he leads more than one coach on about where he'd like to go (even if unintentionally).

From my amateur, outsider perspective, it appears as though we're on the outside looking in with this one. But at least we've got a shot.
