It would be a bizarre turn of events if the only player we end up with is THT.

Is there really a need to freak out this week? I mean, I could easily see striking out on Conditt, Nolley, and CC. The staff did all they could to land these guys, but sometimes, it takes more than trust to get the final commit. These guys may love the staff and like Champaign, but in the end, they would have to trust BU that he will play a certain way and get results. That may or may not be an easy leap for some players/handlers (even with BU's track record at SFA and OSU).

My hope is that we land a decent class, the results on the court this winter show potential, and the subsequent years' recruiting gets easier. Rebuilds aren't often easy...we need to be patient and not freak out.

...yes, even with Ayo.

Been following pretty close all summer, these all could go any way. Nolley and CC had Twitter 2 weeks ago looking like we was in the bag. Ayo visit coming and he says nothing. Now THT has decided to pickup the pace, and gave Chin a good feeling last week. Be surprised with Conditt, in O+B, think ISU is his new home.

IMO, Nolley and CC, commit to us this week. Ayo visit, commit. Wait till next week. Just glad we have practice going. Ready for games.;):illinois:

WRT crystal balls, here's exhibit #4531 on why they frequently don't mean squat, unless it is very late in the process (i.e., the die is cast): https://twitter.com/UIHoopsRecruits/status/914288178630152192

The crystal balls tend to be accurate about 24 hours before a planned announcement, otherwise they are just people playing the odds. Guys will often make a prediction for whatever school a kid has an OV next, in case the kid committs on the visit.

I'm just excited to see the use of our real, current :illinois: symbol on one of these announcements and not the slant letter Illinois. Looks good!

I'm with you on the picks. I wonder if Kisunas fits in somewhere or if he's strictly a backup plan? Would hate to lose out on CC but Kisunas looks like he's no slouch.

I just can't make up my mind on Conditt and his potential. You can't teach a 7' + wingspan but does he have the frame to withstand a B1G season even after Fletch gets a hold of him?

Yes... i wouldn't be surprised if ended up with a class like THT and Kisunas

Don't forget the Finnish kid ;)

Pretty wild, a week or so ago most of us were feeling great about Castleton and Nolley and now looks the exact opposite. Hopefully, Castleton will value the relationship he's built with Antigua and that Virginia Tech loss put a damper on Landers visit

Recruiting is like a Bob Ross painting. There are many moments along the process where you say Bob, you just screwed it up followed by moments of brilliance followed by even more trepidation. But in the end it usually works itself out into a thing of beauty.

Let's just hope Underwood is our Bob Ross.

Uncle Sam, someone the kids can really relate to.

Talen retweeted it so he must've liked it (and 'gotten' it.) I think that pose and poster is pretty iconic for anybody who's taken American History.

I was feeling really good up until the FBI thingy. Nothing would surprise me at this point. You know very well everyone we are up against is using it to their advantage. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

Could it also be that these kids retweet pretty much anything they see about themselves?

Btw, The answer is yes

If you followed Talen, you'd know the answer to that is no. Since he retweeted his final 7, the only 2 he's retweeted are that one and an Illinois fan telling him he'd look pretty good rocking number 25.
