To be fair, Simeon has kind of done the same thing. Sure they send us their good players, but they never send us their elite players. We get the 40 and 50s players but never 5 stars. Ie Tate but not Parker.
Wow, there must be some super fragile adult male ego's behind all this.
Sensitive.
And here's something to keep in mind.
The Irvins gladly advocated for Illinois in Ayo's case. But notice that Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. weren't involved.
Do you really think the Irvins are going to be loyal in pushing elite MIF kids to Illinois when they have the option of going to KU, Kentucky, or Duke?
We are lying to ourselves if we think this deal with the Irvins will automatically get us the best of the MIF.
Wow, there must be some super fragile adult male ego's behind all this.

What if it is the MIF camp, and not Ayo's family?
Maybe Nunn and not Parker is a better example. Tate was, um, well...Tate.
What if it is the MIF camp, and not Ayo's family?
what... are you saying we can't have our cake AND eat it too??
This could have been one of two ways: Irvins pushed UI because the big dogs weren't involved, or else the big dogs weren't involved because it was always going to be UI. I don't know which happened.
What I do know is that the Irvins will push Wake Forest for the next Ayo if you opening dump on them in this instance. We may not get all their burger boys, but we likely aren't getting any of them under this coaching staff if we openly give them the finger.
...and they coach a lot of burger boys.
Everyone is freaking out and all we have is rumors.
A lot of those in power typically have such complexes. Sucks when grown men's arguments affect teenagers this much.
appears as if we have made our bed and now...
Yeah, I just hope the bed turns out to be like a TempurPedic or something and not something from a rummage sale. Time will tell.
If it all went down like the rumors suggest, I think we took the least bad route here.
yep... I agree. This is how it works in the world of College BB now. Still feels a bit slimy though
I am sure the blue blood programs have to make decisions like this more often than we realize. The difference is that every one of their recruits has 5 stars, so rather than making their whole bed with the one decision, it's more like choosing one sham pillow.
Bottom line we need Ayo more than THT if the rumors are true. Ayo also committed first.
