Am I drunk or did literally everyone just miss the fumble by Ingram, recovered by the Bears? (Mid 2nd quarter)

That third down conversion at the two minute mark first half showed improvement on Trubiskey's recognition of where blitz is coming from and where to throw.

Bears still aren't very good against the blitz. Trubiskey is going to have to tuck it and run sometimes. Also Barth is missing too many field goals. They need a better kicker.

Please quit showing Miller's td catch over and over. He's obviously out for season with that injury. Maybe career threatening.

absurd, overturn the TD catch that did not touch the ground. BS

Bears defense is doing a great job again. I thought after that ridiculous overturn the train might totally derail.

This game would be tied if not for the ridiculous overturn of Miller's td. But that was a horrible offensive series by the Bears after the second Ingram fumble.

While this loss is disappointing, I'm sure many Bears fans would have taken 3-5 at the bye considering how tough the early schedule was going to be for them.

The schedule does get a bit easier in the 2nd half of the season.

Hard not to place a lot of blame on the officiating on this one. I don't understand how a ball that never hits the ground can be considered an incompletion. That was awful.

A lot of encouraging things though. I don't know how much more you can expect out of the offense with so many injuries to the receivers and line.

Trubisky entered the game 60th all time in Bears passing yards. With 164 today, he moved up to 51st, passing Young Bussey, Doug Flutie, Jimmy Clausen, Rusty Lisch, Jonathan Quinn, Rick Mirer, Tommy O'Connell, and Bronco Nagurski.

How does that happen? With so many camera angles today. The fact they never revisited the play is ridiculous.

While the on fields refs missed the call, it is on the Bears to challenge. The NFL is different than college, they do not review all calls, only td and turnovers.

I listened to early part of game. Did the Bears lose a challenge already at this point? Were they a little gun shy?

The Bears lost a challenge later.

On the Ingram non-fumble, just guessing because the announcers were so bad, but I think the whistle was blown before the fumble. Which I believe makes the play not reviewable.

The later challenge was also poor officiating IMO. The whistle did not blow, which means refs were not sure. They are instructed to swallow their whistle if in doubt, especially since turnovers are reviewed automatically. The whistle blew after the Bears recovered. Call was probably correct, but that should have been a turnover/booth review and not a Bears challenge.

Regarding the Ingram fumble, a whistle does not necessarily stop a play if an opposing team recovers "immediately." I may be wrong but I believe that could have been reviewed.

Here's referee Carl Cheffers explanation of why the Miller TD was overturned on review:

The schedule does get a bit easier in the 2nd half of the season.

Second half schedule:
Home games: packers, lions, 49ers, browns
Road games: eagles, lions, bengals, Vikings
Hopefully they should beat the niners and browns, but the rest looks fairly tough to me. I agree with your first half comment, I figured one or two wins in the first half. What hurts about today's game is that no one gave the bears a chance and it turned out to be a winnable game.

I can see four wins out of that schedule: 49ers, Browns, Bengals, split with Lions who are still a Jekyl and Hyde team.

Packers always have our number, but without Rodgers anything is possible.

So I see 7-9 for no other reason than it is not good enough for playoffs, but good enough to garner a mediocre draft position ;)

Apparently Miller's injury so severe he is undergoing emergency surgery this morning to just save his leg according to reports on AM 670. At 33, his career is probably over.
