Tyger Campbell to UCLA. Big for potential Ramey -> Illini.

Not sure how Ramey not going to UCLA and Villanova because they have highly rated PGs coming doesn't eliminate Illinois as well. We will have highly rated PGs ahead and in his class. I don't think he is coming, still think you don't sleep on Mizzou. They have the need and proximity, unless those relationships have soured.

Unless of course the UCLA staff does what we're doing and tries to sell him on having multiple PGs running the show simultaneously.

I mean, couldn't UCLA fans look at us and see Ayo committed and think "well, they already have a 5* PG, so there's no way he goes there"?

Apparently the interest is mutual, and that's a great thing. Unless he wants to stay close to home, I really don't understand how we'd come out on top here given how loaded we are at PG. But that's really up to Ramey. If he's comfortable with it, bring it on!

Let's just think about what you correctly said......"given how loaded we are at PG." After five years in the desert, we come upon Lake Michigan!!:thumb:

The truth of Talen Horton-Tucker's recruitment, according to those closest to him

Horton said much of Talen's decision came down to how quickly he could contribute. The options weren't as intriguing at Illinois, which hauled in three guards in its 2017 class.

"Illinois has like five guards," she said. "If Talen doesn’t grow any more, that’s not a good fit."

Maybe it's all manufactured rumor. I think there was an awful lot of smoke leading up to the announcement - including that incredible tidal shift in CB's - for it to have been as drama-free as the Register claims.

Maybe you're right, but if we add Ramey, I guarantee 1 or 2 guards will transfer out and we all know that it won't be Trent. And in regard to winners and fighters, while they very well may be, I'm waiting to see it on the floor. Currently, the only two players that have shown to be gamers are Black & Frazier and you could maybe add Kipper to that group if he can become more consistent. Everyone else still has a lot to prove in the category of fight/winning. Our program for the last 3 years has been a culture of softness and losing and that's very very hard to reverse.

Damonte and MSmith are developing freshmen and have nothing to do with the last 3 years. Frazier is playing like a McAA recruit be happy. Damonte was looking very good before the injury, I'm sure he will return to form. What do Malcolm, Nunn, Keita Diopp, Kendall Gill, Luther Head, Deron Williams have in common? They all scored between 4-6ppg as freshmen. MSmith averages 6ppg, lets not write him off just yet.

It is in literally every party's best interest for this to be the way it went down, so a) it might well not be true and b) I certainly do not care whether or not it is true.

Has Illinois even been in contact with Chris Sodom or Georgetown because Im pretty sure he would still be classified a transfer.

being a first-time poster first off Chris Sodom is 7 foot 3 kid I live in Albuquerque he was here in Albuquerque he is not a player we want a big 10 he weighs 180 lb no skill watching Chris Ramey. Chris Ramey tonight and EJ liddle EJ liddel looks like miles from Michigan State got to get some big guys. I'll take Ramey, but AYo is amazing! Blessing from the desert. WE WILL GET BETTER. TAKES TIME. GO ILLINI.

My fellow Illini fans, be patient. We have the guards now. We're missing the bigs. I think coachB an Antigua we'll solve that next year. Remember. "89", our center was 6.7 an rest of the boys we're 6.5 to 6.3. Give it time. Let's beat the Badgers tomorrow.
