I heard Georgie had 40 points and 40 rebounds at practice the other day.
Doing the Mikan drill?

He's right though. Ayo made it his personal mission to stand out as a defender to make the U18 national team. It is pretty likely that will carry over into his time as an Illini.
Actually, if you are one of the bottom 4 teams in conference standings (which I'm assuming we would be just barely, maybe 10th in conference?), then you have to play the first round and thus winning 3 games would get you to the semifinals. That would be 3 BTT wins, which for a .500 conference team puts them in the Championship game. That's aggressive.

I thought hard about Griffin (Tom Crean voice)... and I do think he could have many and will have some bright spots. I just see these other guys being more consistent throughout the season given their natural athletic abilities.

Right or wrong, I see Griffin as an AJ type of player. Hard worker. Not ultra athletic, but a great teammate and someone who will be a solid contributor and a strong 3 point threat.Sounds to me like you might be undervaluing Griffin's talents much like numerous recruiters did to their detriment, before his fantastic run late in this past season, but time will no doubt tell.
I was basing off my own prediction of 7 conference wins.A .500 team isn't going to be in the bottom 4, hence why I said "for a .500 conference team" which was the original prediction in the thread.

1.8 blks, 2.4 steals and 10 Rebounds per game as a senior is good indicator that he has potential to be a good defender. I like 42% 3p and his BB IQ too. Regardless of where he stands in the rotation as a Freshman, he has potential to be a really good player for us and we are fortunate to have AG on our Roster!I agree with GA65, Griffin is a better rebounder than AJ from his HS stats. His dad was a good defender, so that makes me guess he'll be better than AJ there as well.
You guys are absolutely hilarious sometimes...(guess thats what this site is for) lol AJ was the fouth leading rebounder on the team last year (thats in the B1G) and you guys are comparing a Freshman's highschool stats....you cant even make this !!!! up. Too funny! Coach has a complicated defensive scheme and it will take time for the ANY freshman in the B1G to learn it. Thank God for upper class-men because we are going to need each and everyone of them. Anyway...you may continue LMAO!

Here's another funny one..."His dad was a great defender,so I guess he will be able to defend" lolololol If this were true, Marcus and Jeffery would be in the NBA right? Just thought it funny thats all. lmao

Twitterless Giorgi Bezhanishvili @IlliniMBB has had a strong 6 weeks working sprint technique to keep up with his guards. Not to mention has leaned out significantly
