Anyone in the local area heard any news about this lately? I'm dying to see a better rendition of what the SEZ will look like. That is the one area of our stadium SEVERELY holding at back, aesthetically.

I'm think they'll do the basketball practice facility before the South Endzone renovation, unless a football specific donation hampers that.

So, does the locker room in this facility replace the one within the stadium itself? If so, are they going to shut down the space in between the facility and the stadium on gameday? And has there been any more discussion on what we're gonna do with the leftover space in our soon to be former football facilities?

Now that we're getting closer I'm curious about how this is all gonna work.

Not sure about Game Day plans at this point. As for the area vacated by football moving to the new building, from what I've heard (nothing official) the non football equipment staff will move their operations from the basement of Huff, to the former football area for equipment. I'm not sure if they will remodel some or not.

Luckily we aren't competing against Oregon for many recruits. If we can be at or near the top of the B1G in facilities we'll be fine.
There are a number of schools in the Big Ten that may not exceed it but, definitely come close.

It included the stadium too I believe, but wasn’t the NW figure something like $270M they just spent on football facilities? We are not going to be anywhere close to that quality.

I believe their Fieldhouse was built for other athletic programs as well, not just football. Plus they had to build a whole indoor practice field, we already have Irwin.

That facility is for all of their sports. The thing that makes that one hard to top is that it is right on the lakefront with a view of the Chicago skyline. That probably also made it more expensive to build.

these video walk thru's are ancient, by now the finishes are going in (lockers, carpets, tiles, display casework, etc)
a little something should be available to wet our appetites and leak out now if its suppose to wrap up next month.
if no other reason than to encourage a recruit wondering if they should visit. unless....

i know that things all come together quickly in the last few months of a construction project, but there is still a long way to go.
I wonder how the interior finishes are coming... I wonder what the construction schedule looks like?

Nice pics!!
Looks like a real building.
They should put a unique marker, or even just a Block I at the place along the roof where that I-Beam is located that everybody signed.
Just a bit of trivia to use for future Illini. Please feel free to forward this suggestion to Josh or other appropriate folks..

Actually an 18 foot image of the Chief with his hands to the heavens signaling touchdown Illini would be perfect, but...
