Doesn't Tate have only one year left and wouldn't Hurts have to sit out a year?
Hurts has not redshirted, but I believe he has already graduated with his bachelor's, meaning he should be able to utilize the grad transfer rule.

I'm taking Tate, because we already know what he can do in Rod Smith's offense.OK- Dream scenario: Wimbush, Tate and Hurts all come to Lovie; say they want to play here. Lovie can only pick 1.
Who should he pick?
IMO: Wimbush. Granted, its biased, but it seems he would do much better in a system where there is a dearth in NFL talent as opposed to Hurts. When Hurts is playing a better team, it often looks like he's lost or overmatched; has the talent around him bail him out.
Ive seen Wimbush shred top 10 teams with both his arm and his legs. If he can improve his decision making, he could be the next (jr version) Juice Williams.

Speaking of potential transfers, is there any news on Olidapo? Was he able to enter the transfer portal??
I thought he meant Ayodele Adeoye rather than Lere Oladipo. There was some chatter about Adeoye transferring from Texas and I have seen nothing about Oladipo wanting to transfer out unless I missed it.I don’t think he is going anywhere. His Twitter is very pro illini

Does anyone else think the NCAA is somehow gonna screw with our transfer waivers just because we have so many transfers coming in? Like obviously they can’t really do anything to grad transfers, but I’m just worried they’re gonna see 1-2 grad transfers and 2 hardship waivers and somehow hold it against us and deny at least 1 hardship. In a vacuum, both Thomas and Ford have great cases for a hardship. I just have this worry that they’ll hold the amount of transfers against us. Probably just being paranoid and giving the NCAA too much credit on their analysis ability, but if it can happen to anyone, it would be so Illinois.

If they dont at least give it to Thomas, the system is broke. Ahmed Starks waiver was for an ailling Grandmother, didn't receive it, but I believe the waiver has become less strict.Thomas has a good case for a hardship waiver given that he has a daughter he's moving close to. Ford's is a bit more iffy since it's a grandparent. We'll see.
I just don’t see how Miami would be able to make a case. Whether he technically left the team or was kicked off, clearly there was tension and neither side really wanted to be with the other. Also an awkward coach retirement sure doesn’t help. Ford is tougher. Clearly Georgia didn’t want him to go, and them telling him that he had little chance of a waiver kinda gives away their position of clearly not wanting to do anything to help him get one. Will be interesting to see.I think the NCAA is much more strict on basketball waivers than football waivers. But I wouldn't be surprised if both Miami and Georgia block the waiver.

You must have missed the Georgia game. Hurts bailed out thevfkailing team to come from behind and win after tha got injured and couldn’t move the ball.
Tate makes the most sense. He knows the offense and would provide some leadership for the youth in the qb room
Gotta admit I know very little about Wimbush and barely ever watch ND games. That being said, he’s a distant 3rd for me. Like I don’t even know if they’d check in on him, 3rd.OK- Dream scenario: Wimbush, Tate and Hurts all come to Lovie; say they want to play here. Lovie can only pick 1.

I'll put all this to bed.....it's Tate or no one.Gotta admit I know very little about Wimbush and barely ever watch ND games. That being said, he’s a distant 3rd for me. Like I don’t even know if they’d check in on him, 3rd.
1. Tate. He knows the offense and has already proven that he can excel running it.
2. Hurts. He has way too much proven talent to completely ignore. If Tate can’t/isn’t coming, you should at least check in on Hurts. That being said I think we have a near 0% chance of landing him.
3. Wimbush. I just think Hurts is the only guy worth going after if you can’t get Tate.
But really, if Tate can’t grad transfer, I’m very bullish on Rivers. Probably moreso than most on this board.
Did you see the picture posted earlier? His snapchat showed him signing up for spring graduation.Last I heaqrd, Tate didn't have the credits to graduate before next year, but maybe he could get them by August?

It said he's expected to graduate in the Summer of 2019.

How do you go from not being able to graduate, to being able to graduate in just a couple weeks?
Jedi mind trick.
