Hopefully Mo doesn't make a move just for the sake of making a move. He's seemed to have done that the past few seasons and it hasn't paid off.

Agreed. But the Cards could use another pitcher, IMO, either a starter or closer.

I doubt they will. It'll likely be starting pitcher who is still under control for next year, or nothing. Really, they don't need much. They're only 2.5 games out of the central and to this point, literally no one on the team has over-performed (maybe John Gant?). They just need guys to regress to the mean, and they'll be just fine.

Surprised no one commented on the Reds sleeveless uniform. Thought it was tacky! Don’t recall ever seeing a team wear that type of uniform before.

The Reds wore sleeveless uniforms back the late 50's and into the 60's. It is my understanding that they're wearing them and other "throwbacks" this year in honor of the 150th anniversary of the undefeated Red Stockings team of 1869.

I didn’t catch any of those in 1869. Were they on ESPN or Fox?😀

That was a heckuva throw by J Martinez. And tag by Knizner

Chasen Shreve, whose 10th inning pitching led to the Cardinals coming within an eyelash of blowing last night's game, was "designated for assignment" today.

Shows how meaningless wins are as a stat. Guy "wins" and gets released the next day.

They had to make room for Mayers. He's the lowest guy on the totem pole. Above hi is Leone. They will keep him for the season. Who knows about next year. Only 3 games and 2 innings. -0.1 WAR. In two years he sure wasn't used very much only 16.2 innings. The 3.78 is't terrible The FIP is 5.33.

Now it's up to Gallegos to keep the Voit trade from being a total bust.

Well, he's doing pretty well. Oh, and though not the cause, Goldy can help with that too.

Did Gallegos ever pitch for the Yankees? He is impressive! Hope for a solid start from Waino tomorrow.

Good news, Verlander pitched today so will not have to face him this weekend!

Get the sweep tomorrow!

Let’s hope the hitting continues! Great sweep.

Who would have thought you would be calling them the first place Cardinals this late into July with the way they played earlier?
