Temple's a decent team (though they lost to Mizzou by 10). But Miami's ceiling is a Q3 loss for us sadly.

Alonzo Verge Jr. (remember him?) doesn't start, but comes off the bench to score 43 of ASU's 56 points. ASU lost by 40. Prior to the game, he was averaging 9.5, though he did go for 15 and 20 in the prior 2 games. Weird stuff.

Wow that is a crazy box score. And ASU shot under 14% on threes while St Mary's shot 62%?! Guess that's why they lost by 40.
He scored 43 and was minus-38 !!

Well yeah, he played 36 minutes of a game where they lost by 40. Clearly this is one case where +/- doesn't tell you much given his teammates essentially all contributed nothing. Not his fault!
+/- always needs to be considered against the others in that same game.
Yeah totally, just thought that was a crazy stat. I wonder what the starters who scored, what was it, 0, 5, and 8 were in the +/-.
Another crazy stat for Verge is he did all that with just one 3-pointer and 6 free throws made.
Imagine what BU could do to this offense with a player like Verge.
Also, Elias Valtonen stats. 17 mins, 2 rebs, 2 pf, 0 pts. He would probably be on the bench here and possibly considering transferring out. Then, not sure we would have gotten BBV, who imo has some upside.
But who knows. Valtonen was a 4*, I thought. Maybe he would be doing better with different coaching.
