It's just crazy to look at the latest TRankings and see Griffin @ #24 in the B1G.
It's worth noting that Torvik's default sort for player rankings is PORPAGATU (Points Over Replacement Per Adjusted Game At That Usage). So it's essentially a ranking of scoring ability.
BPM (Box Plus Minus) reflects both offense and defense. By this metric, Griffin is #1 in the B10 and #5 in D1 with a rating of 11.7. Torvik's records go back to only 2008, but the only other Illinois player during that time with a BPM of 10 or above is Rayvonte Rice during his senior season.
