The reason you see so much disagreement on who will be the starters next season is that all players mentioned will be starters....at some point. Georgi will find his touch and step up. People do not lie about what happens in practice so Grandison will be really good. We know Curbelo and Miller are pretty strong freshmen, but are freshmen. They will get their opportunities early, but will have to outplay the vets to earn important minutes. BBV is a huge question mark but with simple maturity and knowledge of the coaches, players, surroundings, school requirements, and schemes, he should make a step forward from what we saw, which was a pretty good cameo. DMW and Griff are solid and Trent will improve his shooting. Hawkins has needed skills and will get his chance, but has a lot of more experienced talent ahead of him to cast aside. So, all these guys will play important minutes and most will get a shot at a start or two. But, I am certain BU wants them all to play lights out and get important minutes. The biggest key to me is Kofi returning, which should be considered a certainty but who knows what goes through his head? If Ayo decides to return, there should be no other goal than to win it all. But they will have to make shots...and that is what will have to be proven.
To me, it is a waste of time to speculate on starters. I want to know who will step up and work to improve their shooting % and add scoring moves....while staying committed to all out defense. The guys who do those things hardest will play, and the ones who can score AND defend the best will be on the floor in crunch time. No one has any clue as to the names of THOSE guys at this time...other than we all sincerely hope one is named Kofi with only 2 fouls, 19 pts, 5 blocks, and 16 rebounds.
