You don't need to go back too far but Underwood's first year at UI, he played 10 guys double digit MP. And had 10 different starting lineups.
If the above minutes are played by Ayo, Kofi, and Trent....then there would still be 112 minutes of playing time available in a regulation game....divide that by 6 other players( 9 man rotation)....that's a little over 18 minutes per player...or 16 minutes per player if there is a 10 man rotation....my guess would be that players 8,9, and 10 in rotation wouldn't get more than 12-14 minutes per player at most...so I really think there's plenty of minutes to go around.....now if the season would be condensed or shortened that's probably going to have some effect on rotations and playing time

Is there a good reason why the B1G wouldn't/shouldn't consider an extended bubble for the season? Obviously the cost would be high to pull that off and players/coaches/staff would have to agree to be without family/friends/SOs/etc. But if the pandemic is still in a similar stage and classes remain online (if this weren't the case and classes are in-person, then that's a different story), I'm having trouble seeing what major downside there is to setting up a bubble from say Jan. 1st to late Feb. for playing out the conference schedule. Players/coaches already eat sleep and breathe basketball during those months whether or not their in a bubble, and I would think that players would be motivated to make those sacrifices since it would either (a) give them an opportunity to showcase their talent to the NBA and/or (b) relieve what I can imagine would be incessant boredom and a strong desire to compete.

I suggested similar a couple of weeks ago, but I would run through the tourney, if there is one. If all conferences do this, correctly, there should be a tourney.
I think there's a real chance at some sort of non con bubble. Get regional teams together at a centralized location and have a round robin/ tournament style play for 10ish games. You could get 10ish games in a month or less, center it around thanskgiving to christmas (probably excluding those holidays) when most schools are going online only anyways and you eliminate the problems of attending class. Agreed cost would be crazy high, especially for the Bradley's and ISU's of the world, but
there'd be a good chunk of TV revenue--perhaps the larger schools would take home less. Or maybe we dont include little guys, limit regionals to P6 schools who can afford it.
There's a lot of planning and negotiating and what not involved in this. Not to mention that if you want a 68 team field at the end of the year, with small school play ins, thats 350+ schools you've got to coordinate. What if small schools dont play more than 15 games? Again, maybe it plays itself out--normally only auto-bit conf tourney winners make it in anyways.

Yes a non con bubble approach must include Misery.....not sure you'll see many DII schools on schedule....if fans are not in attendance at games then revenue would be limited....would and could Illinois guarantee a visiting DII school x amount of dollars to play at SFC...pretty sure the guarantee would be a much smaller amount than in a normal season
The biggest obstacle is requiring unpaid college athletes to remain in a bubble away from their family/friends/SOs while the coaches, leagues and NCAA all make money. Now that's not much different then how the NCAA has always been set up but certainly flaunts it more.

Love what Kofi has to say. Like many of us, I am white and grew up in a small town with very few black families, some who became state and local legends. I played ball and went to school with a few and found out quickly not to judge anyone other than by what is in their heart, mind, and soul. I also learned very young that there were many with black hearts, black minds, and black souls....with white skin. Every person in our country who is not a native American, is or descended from immigrants. Any and all with good hearts, minds, and souls will always be welcome in my country.

Teams like Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue, Minnesota, and Indiana just lack the talent or coaching to be able to unseat MSU. It should be the Spartans’ conference to lose.
Interesting take on Illinois. Inferior talent and coaching? Hmmm.
My reaction to this: "meh." It's August and he has column inches to fill. The rubber meets the road in ~ January (we hope). Some teams will surprise; some will disappoint. This reminds me somewhat of a quote attributed to John D. Rockefeller in the '20s, in response to someone's request for a prediction of what the market for oils would do.

In September 1983 the Illini weren't even predicted to be in the Top 20 nationally. They won the BT (with a cracking 15-3 record), finished #6 in the polls, and came within ~ a basket of the Final Four on the home floor of Kentucky in OT.
