Nice...really waiting for this one. A win here would be a nice wake up call To start the season for everyone sleeping on the Illini.

So there has been talk about the Covid situation in WI being a possible monkey wrench in this game being played. What I don’t hear is if Wisconsin has had players testing positive or if it’s just the fact that there are a lot of cases in general. I’ve heard no family will be allowed in the stands. Anyone have information on this?

No player families allowed. Wisky had a rash of players with the covid earlier, not sure if that is still true. They missed a lot of early season practice because so many staff and players had been exposed to covid. I think the B10 set the threshold at 5% (roughly five players) from a squad and the game is off.
Even without the covid, Wisky offense has taken a hit. They lost their top running back to the pros and graduated 3 of 5 offensive linemen. And, of course, their qb has now gone down with injury. We've caught them at a vulnerable time.

So, you are saying that we have cornered a wounded animal, that always turns out well. :tape:

Hope we can make it a competitive game with a chance to pull off an upset at the end.

42-31 good guys. Friday night game on national tv...let's start with a bang!

There have been a lot of high scoring games in the ACC and SEC. When would you ever see a Mo team score like they did on a LSU team or the play of Alabama's def. I wonder if that will carry over into the BT. Will the offenses be ahead of the def? The Orange and Blue will prevail in this one.

I think part of the reason for the high scores is due to lack of tackling in practice as a safety precaution. Less contact should mean less virus spread and it should also result in fewer injuries which might be critical in this season of uncertainty.

Fully preparing myself for either a devastating blowout smacking us in the face even though we come out fired up (see AT Arizona State a few years ago) or an absolute thriller where we play inspired and get a massive early-season win (see VS. Arizona State a few years ago), and I wouldn't be shocked at anything in between. Just happy there will be football! :p

I don’t expect a win up there, but, I do expect us to look competent, prepared, and organized. Keep it close, maybe lose by one score. I’m excited to see how Brandon Peters plays. Seems like he’s made some strides in the offseason and could surprise some teams.

Florida is shut down until further notice. MLB season was played in a bubble. There’s a reason Camp Randall is closed, even to families. Let’s hope the BIG has gotten it right, and we are the one major conference to complete its season as scheduled. If so, 6-3 and a good bowl, 7-2 if we sneak up on Whisky.

I think the UI vs WI game will be a fairly high scoring game. Like others have said and watching other conferences play the def are behind from the Off.

Wow, that's not no respect, that's disrespect right there.
If we get blown out by 24 points I think we all will be pretty disappointed. I expected something more along the lines of 14.
