Not much here, other than what we already have seen posted. No offense to our insiders, but those outside the program see things quite differently. IMO, there's way too much buzz on Kentucky to think our insiders know something everyone else doesn't. We're far too biased to have a good perspective on what's happening or likely to happen.

UK leads, Hopkins visited UK
I have the same feeling... The word murky has been thrown around a lot on this recruitment. Calipari's track record for thriving in the murk is pretty well known. Our track record in these types of recruitments is not good. I can't recall the last time we landed a top 50 recruit where we weren't the presumptive favorite for weeks or even months prior to the verbal commitment. I'll believe it when I see it.

This isn't a "murky" recruitment.

Not sure if Kofi was top 50 or not, but he was in that area and we weren't his presumptive leader that I recall.

In one of Clyde Hopkins recent interviews, he stressed location as a key point. Oak Park to Lexington is a little over 6 hours and OP to CU is just over 2 hours. Take your choice Clyde and family.:)

I think our insiders are connected, but the info they get is only as good as the source it comes from and the info they get. I feel like all too often recruits tell staffs what they want to hear and that info makes it to our "insiders". It's been discussed ad nauseam here, but our insiders could be giving us 100% accurate info based on what they're hearing, but it might not matter if that recruit is just afraid to be completely honest about where each school sits. Each school could honestly believe they lead. Hell, the kids (and they are kids trying to make adult decisions with likely dozens of adults in their ear) likely don't know who leads until they have to make that final decision. I try not to get too invested, but it is hard to not get your hopes up sometimes.

And furthermore, the teams that Kentucky plays on the road are even farther, while many of the Illini road games will be similar to CU.
If that is a factor, it weighs heavily in our favor.

I'm optimistic but don't let a No bring me down. We have way too much positivity going on right now to let that type of thing impact negatively.

I don't want to downplay Ayo and Adam Millers huge commitments but stealing a top 30 prospect from KENTUCKY and their 10 crystal balls at the same time we get a preseason top 10 ranking screams Illinois is back and aint leaving for the whole country to hear... This one would feel different...
Much like Ayo coming to start a turnaround Illinois can sell 5 stars the chance to continue a dynamic program with no pressure to stay in program, or get pushed out too early. Patience with Ayo and Kofi proves that IMO.

You must be the IU vote in the poll?
Been creepin for along time but felt it was time to come out or come in hot... Love Hopkins and Love the Illini much more but don’t like where this is headed. Would be a perfect fit for what we need and for any college team honestly. Reminds me of Evan Turner...

Why IU though? Just curious where this is coming from. You have a source or is this based off of something else?
