Old timers like me will remember a touchdown pass to Oliver Williams, where the two Wisconsin DBs took each other out, leaving Williams to run to the end zone untouched. Kinda similar to what we just saw there.

I'm starting to think this five-year long experiment in always permitting opposing QBs to have as much time as they would like to stand in the pocket and scan the field for open receivers while four pass rushers bounce harmlessly against a wall of O-lineman maybe just might not be working.
The QB looked comfortable throwing it away a few plays earlier...it was like “meh, I”ll get it on the next play.”

When the head coach is supposedly a defensive guru and yet the defense gets abused week in and week out, it’s time.

Poor coaching and poor effort is a recipe for disaster. Dumpster fire!

Defensive linemen were just standing instead of rushing. Look like they were waiting to bat the ball down.

At least there won’t be an excuse for retaining Lovie. This is the result we need for things to improve in the future
I hope your right, but keep in mind this is Illinois! As one of my coaches used to say when somebody continually messed up "you could F-up a peanut butter sandwich". That literally seems to be Illinois football.

That play on the players!
Look, I know players have to show up, but when you hear “that’s on the players” for five years...it ain’t just on the players.

Hey Rod, your collection of 5 plays is wearing thin

For YEARS our secondary just tries to hit with their shoulders instead of wrapping up, runners just bounce off for extra yardage. How has this not been fixed by coaching? It's inexcusable and loses us games.
Sadly, it's how the game is played these days. See it all over the place on Saturdays and Sundays. Somehow there's more value placed on trying to blow up the offensive player and create a turnover, vs. actually bringing the ball carrier down.
