This makes all the sense in the world. I just wonder if the numbers bear it out. Historically the home court advantage is 3-4 points. Anyone know what the stats guys say this season?
Home court still picks its refs, still open minded so far.

Remember seeing us against the Dookies in Chicago one year, late 80s early 90s. Hate the Dookies more than UNC, is K retiring some day? Would like to see them and the NE Patriots fall into oblivion. Live in MA.

GO ILLINI!

One of those losses was to the Illini in 1995 when Kiwane Garris, Jerry Gee and company broke Duke‘s 95 game non conference home winning streak.
Yep, 12-5-95!! Others are MSU this year, SFA last year, St. John's in 2000 and Wagner in 1983. I don't know the other 5.

I'm still working on the list of them but the additional ones I've found include Vanderbilt, Appalachian State, and Davidson in the 1981-82 season and Louisville along with the Wagner one you mentioned during the 1982-83 season. I'll take a look and see if i can find the 5th later.

Fanview, Tyler seems to be a good kid, why do you post crap like this?
Lighten up, haha. It was a harmless joke. I didn't say anything negative about him. Don't take it too seriously. I've long been an avid fan of Tyler and think his role on the team is integral with chemistry and helping guys understand their role.

I think it will certainly be less of an advantage, but the home team still gets to sleep in their own beds, drive in their own car, kiss their own girlfriend, poop in their lucky toilet, and get dressed at their own locker. There will still be at least a little bit of an advantage, but it will be interesting to see the statistics at the end of the year compared to usual.

Wait...as opposed to.......the other teams' players' girlfriends? Is this some kind of travel tradition I haven't heard about?

This is kinda how I picture you.....maybe a pipe. 😉

I have too many memes in my back pocket to be that old, but I feel that old with 2 kids under 4 destroying my sleep.

No pipe, but yes scotch.

I think Ohio will turn out to be a good team, but the big victory over Clev St likely doesn’t mean much. They’ve lost 21+ games the past five seasons.
40-0 run is the longest in the history of D1 vs D1 basketball. They are primed to run the table in the MAC.

Yes, a historically bad offensive stretch by likely a very bad team. I agree Ohio is better than most thought and that the Illini’s “bad win” over them looks much better now. But I’ll bet my beach house that if MAC has a full season that Ohio will not run the table in conference.

Agreed. OU is rated #102 currently in Kenpom. Not a "good win" in that range. The MAC is weak this year. The championship will go through Bowling Green.
