How about a little player comp fun? Podziemski = Ignas Brazdeikis?
(LB comps always welcome here)
Who's the one class of 2021 recruit we have a realistic shot at that we should all have our eyes on? Podziemski?
Haha your second point legit made me laugh. That’s not how this works and what would make you think that?IMO yes. I'd still love to see us get an above the rim 6'7 athlete that can leap out the gym and guard multiple positions but those aren't easy for us to land.
I think if the bluebloods that offered Podz make it known he's a plan B for some of them he's not the type of kid that will be satisfied with that.

Agree with you. Hopefully the Tyler Herro factor doesn't loom too large in this one. Some kids are a bit more enamored with bluebloods than either. Not every kid lives or dies by it.
There's plenty of kids big time programs try to swoop in late to no avail. You just don't read stories about that.
This is true, but KU and UK both offered Podziemski two months before we did. We're the ones swooping in late this time, so I hope it works out! Some kids are a bit more enamored with bluebloods than either. Not every kid lives or dies by it.

Would Illinois take him if it cost you Burnett? Both great points I'm sure Kentucky is playing the Tyler Herro card as much as possible.
The thing I wonder is if he picked up the phone tomorrow and tried to commit would Kentucky or Kansas take him? Maybe but maybe not.
Illinois I'd think would.
I've seen quotes he wants to gets to campuses before committing anyways so I'd tend to agree if Kentucky wants to shoot their best shot and gets to it'll be hard.
I've been told the staff has done a great job of showcasing Ayo's growth but we need a guy to pull the trigger on that. Tyty hurt a bit.

He'd be a junior with two more years of eligibility. My understanding is that this is a free year for all sports, not just football, but I could be wrong.I know seniors can come back for a fifth year next year. But does anyone know if this is a “free” year for other classes this year like in football? For instance, if Kofi were to come back he would still be a sophomore?
^Just a hunch but I think Burnett told the staff if Ayo does indeed leave after this year he is coming to Champaign
Not understanding, all jrs have 2 yrs left, do you mean 2 yrs after jr year? He'd be a junior with two more years of eligibility. My understanding is that this is a free year for all sports, not just football, but I could be wrong.
Yes. He'd be able to be a "super senior" for lack of a better term. Granted, that's only if he elected to stay. Not understanding, all jrs have 2 yrs left, do you mean 2 yrs after jr year?
Ayo is contractually obligated to return it we don't at least make an elite 8Yes. He'd be able to be a "super senior" for lack of a better term. Granted, that's only if he elected to stay.
Think of it this way. If Ayo didn't jump to the draft after this year, he'd have two more seasons of eligibility, his senior year plus one.
Kofi has three. His junior and senior seasons, plus one. I don't think it's likely either of them take it. I imagine Ayo is gone after this year and Kofi after his junior year depending on the strength of the draft class and the skills he can pick up.
Your lips to God's ears.Ayo is contractually obligated to return it we don't at least make an elite 8
This is actually an interesting point. I wonder if we make it far but fall short (and maybe in a gut wrenching fashion) will Ayo consider running it back.Ayo is contractually obligated to return it we don't at least make an elite 8
