Illinois 75, Wisconsin 60 Postgame

Just watched the Reuvers and Trice post-game interviews. Both players and Gard are pretty classy. Reuvers was like "There was pretty much nothing I could do about Kofi dunking everything". Trice was like "Ayo and Kofi are a dynamic duo. They have made a major jump from last year. We have to play them again......crap."

Umm...you forgot "fire BU", "bench Trent", "start Curbelo and CoHawk", and "Bardo sucks". 😁
His post was written in a snotty tone, however he has a point. 18 TO. It's a problem. The team is so good at most other things, it masks the TOs. Against Baylor or Gonzaga, that may be an L.

It might be time to at least *consider* that Ayo is having a better junior year than Deron '05. I'm at least willing to entertain a debate. Damn.
Ayo is having a great year period...problem with comparing is they are completely different players Deron could have put up 20 a night no doubt about that lol he didn't need to we was loaded with good scorers.
Deron was a PG Ayo is a combo guard very capable of playing PG ..
Promise Deron could have averaged 20+ a game if that was his thing..
My opinion just enjoy having another great player in Orange and blue ..
It's a great time to be a Illini fan (Cheers) 😬😎

Do you know I was so impressed with these two men tonight in their interviews. The thing they also hit on was how much they respect coach Underwood and they appreciate the coaching he gives them and how hard he pushes them! Note to other players in the country if you want to be good you come play for Coach Underwood coach O, coach chin, and coach Gentry. the entire staff!

“I had a good feeling today was a good day to accomplish that. I was just talking (to Kofi) that I was going to get a triple-double. We were just talking about the game,” Dosunmu said. “I’ve watched a lot of film recently and in the last couple games, I wasn’t getting back and rebounding. (Coach Brad Underwood) called me out in film and (Illinois assistant coach Orlando Antigua) was on me at every position in practice and making me run if I didn’t rebound. I love to be coachable.”

impressive take by an All American player

I always refer to Derons Ill-Az game.. A team effort but for sure, Deron was freaking amazing.. Maybe I need to go back and watch it again. 😁

Meltdown in Madison.

It was amazing to see anyone complain about the officiating. Granted, it was only two of those tweets, but I don't recall there being anything major that was a head-scratcher. Unless they're upset that Kofi (and the staff) advocated for the fouls being committed against him to be called, but that's what they were.

I almost wish we could hand them a tape of the Indiana game so they could see what terrible officiating looks like.

NO MATTER what we do against Baylor or Gonzaga, it might be an "L." Those are two really great teams. We are also very good, and getting better. What a year!!

I was worried about that game. Guess I should not have been. So good to curb stomp those guys

Just would love to see him get away from being so one dimensional on offense. Hope his ability to drive to the basket or take mid range shots is in him and will emerge, if not this year, then next year.
Miller is still a freshman. If he takes anything away from being Ayo’s teammate again, with hard work, you can transform your game in the offseason.

The growth Ayo had between each season in a phase of his game has been phenomenal.
Frosh to Soph year he needed a more consistent jumper: deadly midrange and consistent 3 unleashed.
Soph to Junior year: well, you know the rest.

Hopefully Adam has that same motivation, because we know he shares the same NBA dreams.

His passing needs to improve. Curbelo is dangerous because all 5 guys on the other side need to be on a high alert that he’ll drop a dime anywhere at anytime. It makes them hesitate to help so every now and then he gets a short jumper or layup.

When Miller drives he doesn’t have the same passing ability, and people know he’s a scorer, so they make it really hard for him. They can sell out on him if he drives cause the scouting report shows he’s not just gonna throw an easy assist or fully shake himself free.

Can't say that this was a total laugher but it is the closest we have gotten to one in a while.

Not to be negative but our 2 freshman were not good today. Especially Curbelo.
I agree with Curbelo --- "D-". However, I grade-out Miller as a "B" vs. the Badgers. Before the season, I predicted he would be our break-out player of the year. Guessing now that probably goes to Curbelo (today's game notwithstanding).

I was thinking Adam might have the versatility to both hit the outside shot AND also get to the rim multiple times per game. (He hasn't yet developed the latter skill at the D1 level.) However, I'm very impressed by his defense. I think that's a big reason he's started every game so far this season. He was a very strong contributor in beating Wisc.

I agree with you and add that adam did drive the rim at the start of the season so we know he has that ability, but the comp level has increased dramatically into the B1G season and he is finding out that the B1G defenders are better....he will figure it out and as another poster stated hopefully he can improve on his rim skills as Ayo has improved on the things he needed to do.

Adam is playing great D and hustling for loose balls....I'm happy with his play and expect great things as his career continues as an Illini...

I think we’ll see that more next year when the floor opens up with Ayo and likely Kofi gone. Since his role this year seems to be more 3-point shooter, I’d actually like to see him concentrate more on being in a good shooting position when he receives a pass. I noticed last couple of games he doesn’t always have his feet set ready to shoot when the ball comes to him. Trent does that really well, and if AM could do that more I think his FG% would go up.
