2/13 Games

Ohio State and Iowa were effectively locked in today, rolling against Indiana and Michigan State, respectively.

Iowa is going to be a dangerous 4/5 seed in the tourney, as their remaining schedule is probably too brutal to move beyond that (their 6 games remaining: home vs PSU, Nebraska, Wisconsin, road at Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan)

On a non-conference note, Loyola blitzed league leaders (and recently undefeated) Drake at Drake 81-54.

Watching Creighton v Nova and I had no idea that Creighton has only beaten two ranked teams this year. We are going to be very battled tested in comparison to some of the other teams in the tournament who have not had to play in our conference.

Nova didn’t just lose, that wasn’t a buzzer beater.

David Jones already playing for Depaul. A loaded team with a 3-8 record. So far keeping pace with Providence in the first half.

Mark Smith 0-8 today. Get the treadmill ready

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Well, wouldn’t you know, Cuonzo Martin does have a good 3-point shooting squad — Mizzou made 13 on Saturday, four more than in any other conference game.
Except Mizzou’s most-important 3 attempt was air-balled and sealed the win for Arkansas.
Oh, and the 3-point shooting of the Tiger with the best reputation has been repugnant.

And coach Martin has some tough decisions to make about Mark Smith’s offensive role.
Smith is known as a 3-point shooter, however his kryptonite this season is, alas, 3-point shooting. That’s not ideal. On Saturday, Smith missed all five of his 3-point attempts (and all eight of his field-goal attempts). And so, in Mizzou’s five losses this season, Smith is 2 for 17 from 3.

Not that he’s that great in the wins.

From Mizzou’s fifth game of the season until now, Smith is 14 for 65 from 3. That’s 21.5 percent.

I sure hope Mark's father didn't read that article, we all know how sensitive he is if everyone doesn't swoon over the play of his son. Look for a transfer to a less demanding program.
