The staff feels very good about where they are with Melendez. O.A. is on his trail, we will know soon enough...
Also I have been told that we have spoken with Burnett several times in the last week or so, he is making it clear wherever he goes he wants immediate playing time.. We shall see, it is tine to buckle down and finish this cycle out strong.
I know Burnett is good, but the demand for guaranteed immediate playing time always gives me pause. If you're one of the best on the roster in practice and in games, you'll get immediate playing time. It's pretty simple.

Melendez, Later today I’m told! But for sure this weekend.

-O&B Insider
I was increasingly confident this would happen over the weekend until an insider predicted it. Oh well, hopefully within the next few days.

Is it a good thing that what I believe is Melendez's mom liked an Illinois Loyalty video of an Ayo play at Nebraska

Yes... I believe that means we are in great shape.

There is a lot to be said of recruiting the student athlete AND recruiting/selling moms too!

Yeah that smells a bit DePaul-y to me.

Burnett may be a very good player and a good asset for our team, but players who think they can step in to a program and make demands seem like a recipe for causing issues. Underwood has made it clear playing time is earned. If Burnett wants playing time AND is willing to put in the effort to earn it, great. If not, probably better off without him.

I’ll trust coach to make the call

I think reading this as a demand is one way, but it could be also that he's just looking for a spot where there's no logjam in front of him. I don't have a problem with a guy looking for a spot where he can start if he's a transfer.

I do have a problem with guys who complain about being "recruited over." That seems to be part of the issue for him now.

As noted by another, if coach wants to deal with this, I'm all in.

I’m not forming an opinion on your post until logjam chimes in. He has expertise in this area.

Even if Melendez commits, I dont necessarily think we'd be out on Burnett. What's more important imo is Ayo, Trent, and Damonte. If all 3 leave, Curbelo, Miller, and Grandy would all be penciled in for full workloads in the guard/wing spot, but there's still a lot of rotation minutes up for grabs there that Burnett could/would likely have the inside track on earning over Goode and Melendez. That's especially true if BU does elect to go small at the 4 next year (which in turn is impacted by Kofi, because Hawkins and BBV would likely play some 5 if he does leave). Still a lot of things to shake out with all that.

Lets see, Goode, Melendez and Burnett?

Lotta points there potentially, I'll take that class.

I've seen Melendez listed as 6'5", 6'6" and 6'7", anyone know how tall he actually is?

Ubermensch

BOOM! Feed my ego.
6'7" and freakish athlete. Very good on defensive end. Excellent get considering we got in the recruitment very late. Antigua's talent evaluation is the best!!!
Plays on a State champ and plays in the toughest HS league in the country.
I'd say he's a good athlete. Doesn't jump out as "freakish" to me, but I don't know who defines these things.
