Pretty sure the top 20 guy illiniboss was referring to was Boakye. But that's almost certainly not what Underwood is alluding to because he was teasing whatever it is a month before Boakye decommitted from MSU. Suppose it could be Burnett, but can't imagine he'd start teasing that right after Burnetts decision to transfer if Burnett was planning on waiting until April to announce any decision.

I don't think it has anything to do w/ recruiting. My guess is it has something to do with letting fans into SFC.
That would be great but there is no way it would be full capacity and what game do we have at home remaining? We have 5 games left and all are on the road except Nebraska which no one is bouncing off the walls for. I do find it odd that a head coach is this giddy about something unrelated to this season while in the middle of a potential national title run.
I agree its probably not recruiting, but think its even less likely it was about letting fans in. Remember, this was originally teased in mid-January. Around that time Covid was the worst it's been at any point in this pandemic, with daily new cases around 300k and deaths around 3k. No way they were talking about bringing in fans at that point.

Beard asked Underwood help him scout during their tournament run 2 years ago (i think covid has my timeline butchered). Anyways TJ Holyfield was all but set to come to Illinois from SFA and Beard went after him aggressively and fairly negatively recruited against Underwood to the point where it got back to him and he was not happy about it.
TJ got to play undersized center at Tech instead stretch 4 next to Kofi. TJ's loss.

I kinda have to agree with Joel, but thats the thing I literally was unable to extract anything beyond we will see... Which usually does not happen usually things are hinted at, but this one is different it is very hush hush.. Even more so than ayo coming back this year even then I knew he was coming back but I couldnt say anything or my sources are ruined... But this, whatever "this is" seems different, it could be anything, a player , a transfer, fans at sfc anything heck could be ayo on the cover of e a sports... Which would be huge for us... But I just have no clue..
Ill be at the msu game so ill do more digging and see if I can get a nugget or a gold mine...
I wonder if Nimari waiting on a Trent Frazier decision to return. IMO, if he is waiting that makes more sense to me than waiting on Ayo. No offense to Nimari, but as a fan I’d take another year of Frazier vs 2-3 of Nimari.
