I saw your post disappear and it took me a moment to go looking for it as a new thread. Another good call by Dan.
The dregs coming out to bemoan his disappearance are showing us all his real target audience. His value as an entertainer is too low for this to be anything but addition by subtraction.

I'll take a chance in a Dan Dakich thread to say how completely idiotic him and the other guy sounded as they were talking about the Davison flagrant 1. I was getting so mad and wondering what the heck they were looking at. I wasn't actually mad, but it was maddening that they couldn't see the obvious and blatant.
To their credit, they walked it back. It's still telling that they didn't see it correctly with 10 replays to watch.

This may sound uncouth, but Dakich vs anything at Duke? I'm taking Dakich's side.
Most distinctive to me regarding Dakich and his broadcasting colleague(s) is their ability to not let the action on the court interfere with their amusing anecdotes and/or witty repartee. Unfortunately, since I tend to be focused on the game itself, their efforts become less compelling. I will not miss him when he goes.
I would make a rational and well-reasoned comment on this issue, but my son would probably be denied a job 20 years from now if I did.
It's not just this one incident with Dakich. He has a history.

He was looking at his fingernails. It was the end of the half, Curbelo had the ball and DW was standing in the corner with his head down. He said nothing that wasn't accurate or easily seen. I didn't see a big deal there.
He claims to have saved IU basketball twice. Once was that game. The other was when he took over following Kelvin Sampson.
