The debate over who the BIG regular season champs are is not the same as the debate over who is the best team in the BIG.
if the criteria for winning the regular season title is winning percentage with a critical mass of 10 games played, fine. Michigan is at 82% and we are at 80%. I could live with that.
But right now we are the hottest team in the BIG winning 11 of the last 12 including ending the season beating three ranked teams on the road including Michigan in Ann Arbor without our best player by 23 points (and it wasnāt that close). Illinois and Michigan are both 1 seeds and each have a legitimate bragging right. They have fewer BIG losses and the BIG regular season title. We have more BIG wins and ate their freaking souls in the only head to head matchup. If I had to choose, I would take the latter. Iām cool with this.
