As if there weren't enough cool things to play for, this is a wild stat, folks - if the boys win tomorrow, they will officially surpass the 1989 Flyin' Illini as having the most wins vs. AP top 10 teams in one season in school history BEFORE the NCAA Tournament even starts! If anyone wants a trip down memory lane, here are each teams' big wins:

2021
W 83-68
at #10 Duke (Big Ten/ACC Challenge)
W 80-75 vs. #7 Iowa
W 76-53 at #2 Michigan
W 73-68 at #7 Ohio State
W 82-71 vs. (3) #5 Iowa (BTT Semifinals - Indianapolis, IN)

1989
W 87-84
vs. #10 Missouri (Braggin' Rights Game - St. Louis, MO)
W 96-84 vs. #6 Michigan
W 70-67 at #3 Indiana (Nick Anderson's shot)
W 89-73 at #8 Michigan
W 89-86 vs. (2) #7 Syracuse (NCAAT Elite Eight - Minneapolis, MN)

I hope we all realize how special this team actually has been!

I like that Underwood has been limiting Kofi’s minutes. They guys really look fresh. Still 3 games in 3 days is a test. Will take a great effort and I can’t wait!!!

This game will NOT be easy. But likely Kyle young still out with concussion protocol one would think. Gives us a better edge inside. Repeat today’s performance and I feel good. Rest up tonight, boys. Cut down the nets tomorrow

It was mentioned in the post game presser that Young is a no go.

Much like a 5 year old socccer player with no athletic talent and a bad attitude, Michigan will leave the BTT with a participation ribbon. They can then go hang it next to their phony Big Ten banner. Meanwhile, the Illini have real championships to win.
