How do yins think Iowa matches up against Gonzaga? Asking for a friend (who may or may not be stuck picking this game in their bracket).

I'm struggling with that. As a matter of philosophy, I just do not believe Gonzaga will be as hardened as some of these major conference schools (specifically in this year's brutal Big Ten and excellent Big XII), so I kind of want to pick them to lose before the Final Four. With that said, in the games they DO play, they look excellent. Additionally, I just think Iowa kind of lacks some mental toughness and ability to grind out games through adversity when things aren't going their way. On the flip side, of course, when they're draining threes and feeding Garza, there is nobody that they can't beat ... well, besides us, apparently.

In the end, I will probably pick the Zags to beat Iowa in the Elite Eight.

Keegan Murray is the X factor. In our latest game against them I barely noticed him which means we did a good job of keeping him off the glass. He played only 5 mins in Iowa's previous game against Gonzaga.

Will be having a Illinois Loyalty bracket challenge? Just for funsies? I'm sure the champion might end up somewhat slanted. 🤣

You match up like we have all season. We have beaten the best BT teams. If teams want to play hack a Kofi let them. Foul out their big guys. I wonder how a Loyola would have done in the Big Ten. Even. a Gonzaga. I know anything can happen at this time of year. Does any team in our bracket cover Belo. Man he was good in overtime.
I Can't imagine that Gonzaga would have gone undefeated in the B10

Don't forget to give Teddy his early parting gift.

I was hoping Belo would haven ran the last play as he is a much elusive driver. Plus it might have thrown OSU off a bit as they was expecting Ayo. Ayo was fatigued and I wish we would have rolled Kofi off the ball screen and it would have given Belo options. But since we aren’t playing back to back games anymore, we will be more rested and Ayo will be ready. Not that I am questioning Brad or Ayo.
I don’t know if you guys heard ayo on the score today but that moron Parkin was giving Ayo a hard time about his shot selection at the end of regulation. Ayo said he was planning on taking it to the hole and with 5 seconds he noticed Washington helping to his left and there was no room on the right. He said he could of got a few feet closer but he works on that last second shot in practice and feels comfortable with his decision. Ayo really handled the question very good. I was impressed and will trust our all American who has made these shots over and over again.

Somewhat of a meaningless post here, but DAMN! You folks are the only people who understand just how good this week feels. The buildup, the nervous energy, the national acknowledgement, the feelings of relevance and excellence.

I pinch myself about twice an hour, grin, and wait for for Friday. It's all soooo exciting. Love it.

Let’s hope Kofi doesn’t get the James Augustine treatment. Wow ended up in the final poll at #2. Great accomplishment,

I filled out my bracket, called “Win it all for Lou.” I absolutely think this time has a better shot at winning the big one than the ’05 team did. More depth, not living and dying with the 3, better coaching, and a true inside presence. My bracket reflects that and it is actually justified! National title game final score prediction tiebreaker: 75-70, Illinois. 😉
