Matt Bradley - 6'4" 220 SG from Cal. 18 ppg into portal. Not sure if he'd have any interest, but fills AM's spot nicely

Armaan Franklin looks like a good player and would be a secondary ball handler when Curbelli took a breather. That was my concern that we need players who true combo guard skills.

Would be a little disappointed if we wound up with Payne. Lots of potential impact players in the portal and he doesn’t seem to be one. Think (hope) we can do better.

Anyone know if NIL benefits have become an aspect of these recruitments yet?

I really hope the staff has a strategic plan in place to leverage that. They could have a team to help with contracts, invoicing, book keeping, scheduling, etc all to help the players maximize their NIL advantages. I really hope they can be cutting edge in that regard. The Illini certainly have the fan base to support the financials of it all.

Question for the board: who would you prefer between Franklin and Burnett, and why?

I was initially enamored with Burnett, with his athleticism and high school ranking. But I think he’s a low floor, high ceiling guy... sort of unproven at this level so far

We know Frankln is BIG level player, is a great shooter and could plug in immediately.

I’m kind of leaning Franklin if I could pick. Curbelo could work well with him.

I have to think they have a plan. I’m sure they already use the fan base as part of their pitch, so adding in the NIL as part of that along with whatever support for players in that area that is allowable would certainly make sense. Recently saw that Illinois led in men’s basketball teams generating the most interactions on official social media accounts in March with 2.1M, followed by UM with 2.0M, Ark-1.8M, NC-1.6M and Duke-1.2M. Obviously the Illini and UM numbers were helped by the conference championship controversy, but still impressive.
