No mention of that distinction that I can find anywhere. I would think it would have to be specifically stated if that were the case. Good question tho.

Reading this specific wording it could be interpreted that way.

Samford hasn't had a winning record since it joined the Southern Conference a dozen years ago, and hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2000, when it was in the Trans America Conference, before Cardet was born. But, sure, this is strictly a "basketball decision."

Seems plausible that the strategy could be take the playing time, score a bunch of points, then transfer next year with his uncle in tow.

Or maybe he just really wants to play for his uncle and thinks he’ll represent his best interests.

His game actually reminds me a bit of Feliz. He has decent handles and an uncanny knack at finding the right angles to finish at the rim despite his height disadvantage, at least from the vids I've seen.
