I’m confused. You say the “bad attitude” is fan base conjecture. I can see your point of saying that when people were bringing it up BEFORE he entered the transfer portal. At that point it was just speculative. But now that he’s in the transfer portal you’re saying there’s STILL no merit to it? Just because someone from the team hasn’t come out and said he had a bad attitude?
Yes.

He's gonna have to drop the domination theatrics right quick when he gets to CU, I reckon.
It's funny because our other '22 commit is the exact opposite and one of the things I was most impressed with. In this highlight video of AJ Storr he hardly reacts when he finishes a dunk, alley-oop, or and-1 play and he just gets back down the floor. For me it gives a sense of "This is what I do" confidence more so than the theatrics of Bass. I'm sure Bass will be humbled a bit by Payne, Hawkins, and others when he arrives in C-U and it's not so easy.

Act like you've been there before.

It would be a borderline miracle if Underwood and staff convinced Plummer to come aboard as a 6th man.

If the love of the Illini is our beating heart....overreaction is the blood it pumps through our veins.

Ace had an Illinois lanyard on in his IG story today. If we somehow kept Ace and got Plummer, that'd be interesting.

Still think the defense concerns are legitimate. He would come in and immediately be our worst defender, and playing both 6'1" Belo and 6'1" Plummer (neither are a stout 6'1" either) would be a major liability. You can definitely do worse of course, but I think that backcourt would really struggle in certain matchups.
Why you got big wings with length and wingspan and bigs to clean things up!

People are underestimating Omar Payne's impact on next year's team. I'll start the fan club now.
From what little video I have seen on him, I can see him being stronger defensively than Giorgi, but weaker offensively.

As an Illinois fan, I can comfortably say we are just the worst fans. When there's nothing to bicker over, don't worry, we'll create something.

Legitimate concerns but from the highlights I have seen he appears to be pretty pesky on defense and can make plays. Reminds me of Curbelo with a way better shot, without as much flash. His range appears endless from his highlights and quite deadly.

The article he wrote for SI contains an impressive number of spaces on my bingo card for "Things players say before realizing they should transfer:"

> Mid-majors can compete with Power 5 schools
Samford hasn't had a winning record since it joined the Southern Conference a dozen years ago, and hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2000, when it was in the Trans America Conference, before Cardet was born. But, sure, this is strictly a "basketball decision."
