Personally sick of hearing about its a coaches dream, what to ride on the coattails of what others have built? How about helping build something from nothing and making it the next Duke or Kentucky then you might have something you can claim as an accomplishment....Dont let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya...kick rocks!

If UK is doing well in a few years I think Chin will be a head coach and P5 type school. His resume will be really solid. I think its a good move for him even though I dont like it

Goodbye and good luck. Thanks for your work to help make Illinois hoops relevant again. Hoping the next group can help put us over the top!

I think two of these comments are complete bushwa! Only Brad's rings true. The others were written by PR people. Pure baloney!
Big time college career bballcoaching is a networked fraternity. The intesting thing here is OA went back to his mentor KUs Coach Cal
I note that Coach BU hired former Illini guard Chester Fraizer who played for Bruce Weber and joined Coach Weber at KSU for seven years. I am sure big time coaches keep in touch to get the vibes who is available as a coach and or a transfer player. It is the way now and more is coming for the Illini
Chester Frazier played with moxie while an Illini going to the Big Dance three times in his four years. Great hire by Coach BU.

For the bitter fans...I hope are new assistant coaches become even more marketable than OA and CC.

I truly appreciate what Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman did to help Coach Underwood build the program back up from the lower rungs of B10 Basketball. It has been fun and exciting to watch.

But I would have liked to see them show their confidence in themselves, Coach Underwood, our players and the program by staying and finishing the job.

So.....

No different from getting an opportunity to work at a successful, prestigious company making a lot of money vs. trying to help your struggling company come up the ranks. Not saying we are struggling but referencing your build something from nothing.
The money making part was basically a match. Like I said kick rocks!

To each his own.

Would you rather be the chairman of the board for general motors or be Elon musk?

I mean no disrespect to our former assistant coaches, but I hope this thread dies out sooner than the AM string.

I say, whatever, Peace to them both, best wishes, and let's move forward. We have a good thing going and BU and his (new) staff will keep that going. No hard feelings to me, do what you think is best for you, and we will do the same. Go Illini.

Another Kentucky Sports Radio Story about how impressive Calipari was in "swiping" our coaches:
"This move – swiping the top two assistants and recruiters off one of the five best teams in college basketball last year – isn’t just a major flex. It is one of the most impressive things John Calipari has done since he’s gotten to Kentucky."

(warning: story will make you want to barf)

While I’m not happy to see either leave, I see no reason for any hostility toward coaches who are advancing their career and doing what is best for their family. Every assistant coach is looking for the best opportunity to advance in their profession. Every head coach knows he will have to replace his assistants from time to time. The more success we have the more likely we are to lose coaches along the way. Now we go poach someone else’s top guys.

May the Departed Ones bring a great deal of talent to the Kentucky Horselands. Why? Because when The Illini beat them in the National Championship Game of the Future, it will make that victory all that much SWEETER.

We just need to hang on to the recruits/players we already have. Before we got OA...I never heard of him. (but then...ALL the guys we are going after now (except Chet) I have never heard of!
