Did he already move into his office in Champaign or is that his office in VT? lol Anyone else curious about this?
Looks to me like a home office? Could be wrong though.Did he already move into his office in Champaign or is that his office in VT? lol Anyone else curious about this?
I'm just playing. Watched the video and saw him running drills with his players. No idea if there is a rule against it, but how would he find the time? Shoot, it's his second day on the job and he already offered a recruit.

I echo this. Admittedly, I'm a near 50 year old cynic, but this smacks to me of same ole Illinois. Talk of big time $ being thrown around & then we hire an alum. Maybe he is great & I'll hope for that, but I've seen this act before.I agree. I don’t get all the excitement for this. I’m underwhelmed. If this is plan A, I’m worried about what’s coming next.
Getting a young alum who has had success at a Big 12 and an ACC school? If the Illini would have hired him immediately after his playing career finished I would have been highly skeptical. This appears to be a great move and perfect timing all things considered.I echo this. Admittedly, I'm a near 50 year old cynic, but this smacks to me of same ole Illinois. How can anybody read that article and not believe this is a super hire. With Frazier Gone, Hokies Need To Make Another Big Hire
Virginia Tech Associate Head Coach Chester Frazier was an excellent coach and recruiter for the Hokies, but now they will have to find a replacement as Frazier moves on to Illinoisdullesdistrict.com
It's not like he was an alum coaching high school kids in Effingham. He is an assistant coach at a high major program that finished the regular season ranked in the top 25. They wanted to keep him. We brought him home. He has earned this opportunity. He was near the top of the list for a reason, and it isn't simply because he is an alum.I echo this. I agree. If you're on a short list as an up and coming candidate as a head coach, I'm pretty sure it's not settling to take him as "just" an assistant coach. This is an absolute steal. It's not like he was an alum coaching high school kids in Effingham. He is an assistant coach at a high major program that finished the regular season ranked in the top 25. Roundball, you got a little Kenny Slam in you ... nice. This once again is a “Statement” hire to the Ball World: ‘Illinois is a place to COME TO if you want to get with a legacy winner.’
So, the Orange now have a Frazier as a top recruiter. Mark this down for the future: One day, the Orange will have ANOTHER top recruiter named Frazier... TRENT. And he will OWN the State of Florida and bring loads of Fresh Talented Florida ‘Orange’ to Champaign for a generation. And this Frazier bleeds Orange and Blue, too. Such a sweet and tasty future ahead.

And even knows how it feels to lose to LoyolaHe's been to an elite 8 more recently than anyone who will be walking into Ubben but I agree, he's still a scrub
"Same ole Illinois"? Just how many alums have we hired for basketball?I echo this. Admittedly, I'm a near 50 year old cynic, but this smacks to me of same ole Illinois. And I am (a bit older) cynic, but I really like this hire. So many to recruit in the DC/Baltimore area and Chester has been all over it. Good guy, good coach, committed O&B, well respected here (DC area), and from what it seems everywhere....good stuff all around."Same ole Illinois"? Just how many alums have we hired for basketball?
Was thinking the exact same thing. Love the positivity (and CAPS).Roundball, you got a little Kenny Slam in you ... nice.
