Our athletic administration is in great hands. Josh is doing a great job. I trust that if there is a chance of resurrecting a relationship with the likes of a Larry Ellison, then he knows how to do it. It's great to have someone in charge who feels the pain just like we do (I am an alum). That pain will motivate him to take our revenue sports to the upper echelon of the Big Ten and nationally.
Thanks. This is essentially it. Josh knows who to call and how to go about doing it. I don't think he needs any advice from the board on that.

If you come to find out that a previously unknown godchild to Melinda Gates is now attending the University, pass that on. But I think every one at the Foundation and the DIA is plenty aware of the Fortune 500 connections to the University.

Can there be a new thread started for alumni/donor relationship speculation?

Life is a series of changes, good and bad........changes in one's career.....family....health......sports teams you cheer for.....

I am approaching this turnover in coaches the same way I did when lovie was let go......give it time and see what happens.....

the football side of the coaching resume is going as well as could be expected with a buzz that was absent with Lovie...Bret B. has me anxious to see how the team does on the field and the way the staff is recruiting is a welcome bonus....

Now, with Chester Frazier hired and everyone is well aware of his tenacity to the game, I think we will see that BU and JW had a plan in place just for this predicament we are experiencing......

I just want to win and be dancing every year with hope that we can finally achieve our goal of that first Natty...

Is that too much to ask for ??????

That thread will automatically start once someone wonders about trying to get funding from Hugh Hefner's estate

There was always a rumor floating around that he had previously donated money for a building but they wouldn't put his name on it. Possibly apocryphal.

If I remember correctly, the rumor was that it was the Business School building. Probably would have changed majors if I could have gone to the Playboy School of Business.

I think it came from the MacIrvinFire Twitter account. After the Loyola game they went off talking about how Nick would have won that game by 30. Don’t think it came from Nick himself.
Doubt he would have. That was the last team I wanted to play in the second round for obvious reasons.

Frazier is walking into a golden opportunity to show his recruiting ability. Lot's of excitement coming off our best season in years. Electric backcourt with ELITE defenders. The potential to have an ELITE frontcourt if Kofi returns. Incoming freshman with ELITE shooting. An ELITE new Ubben facility. Fans back in the AssemblyHallSFC.

And now he's selling his Illini. If I was any kind of a ELITE salesman, I'd be chomping at the bit to get out on that trail!

Yeah, it's amazing!

Fun fact: that's the job, and a whole lot of legitimate programs have hired the guy. I'm not sure why people want to make this a thing. It's not a thing. A key part of the job description is "move to a new part of the country every few years."
The thing is it is a thing. People are lamenting the loss of oa and possibly chin and they lasted a lot longer than this hired gun

Could THIS be why Pinkins hasn't been announced yet? Illinois/Underwood was waiting for this last shoe to drop? Is Young in play for Gentry's spot then? Is Pinkins still likely on board? These questions and more will be answered on the next episode of ... "Soap"!
