I view landing Corhen as being more important than Casey, regardless of their rankings. We're solid at SF, with Melendez (who I'm high on) and possibly Goode (beyond a shooter). Would much rather bring in a future starting PF (which Corhen is, IMO).

I think Underwood feels the same. The fact that he’s burning an official visit early tells me we are all in on this kid.

Maybe we can talk @BMoreIllini into resurrecting the official visit grid.

I feel good about the next group of recruits and direction of the program. We already know a couple of things about BU. He will get quality asst. coaches, our last 3 asst. coaches were poached by Kentucky and Gonzaga (enough said). Our next asst. I believe will come from the pro ranks. BU also has shown that he can land the high 4 star that is under recruited by the blue bloods (Ayo, Kofi, and Curbello). BU has also shown he can land quality players in the transfer market (Delarosa, Grandison, Plummer, Payne).

If you look at who we are tracking it is a much higher ranked group than 3-4 years. Hoping to get AJ Storr back in the fold, a quality PG and PF/C.

**On a side note I know many of long-term Illinois fans feel like we are cursed or can't match up to the blue bloods or other major programs. I have been visiting many universities lately and Illinois as a campus and academic institution is a powerhouse. Many of the schools ranked ahead can't match Illinois across many academic disciplines. This may not impact recruiting in football and basketball, but be proud of your university as a top tier university.

I never thought about the next assistant coming from the pro ranks. That might be why they are saying be patient. It's possible that the coach is still coaching on a playoff team. Great point!

Being told that Illini hoops will get some MASSIVE transfer news from 1 of these 3 guys soon - Marcus Carr, Cameron Krutwig and Ej Liddell. #illini. Will report more when I receive more.

I've never heard of this guy either, but I'd like to subscribe to his newsletter.

This is the same man who broke the Adam Miller to LSU news 72 hours after he entered the portal. Kid has connections with no one on the staff, but the players themselves #illini

Those all seem like very long shots to me. I don’t think any will get drafted. We are in good shape at the guard position, EJ may have had some buzz at one point, but I think that’s been put to rest and OSU recruited a center almost specifically to get Liddell back, and other than hopeful speculation here I’ve seen nothing about Krutwig having any interest in Illinois. I could easily see him following Porter to OU, but he has specifically said he wanted to go pro even if it’s in Europe.

I concur. Staff is also really good at ID-ing top talent early. And it's very comforting knowing that that attribute has carried forward with our new ACs.

The Jugular Waffle tweets are from March, folks. Rando trolling to be sure, bringing them up now.
I went back to check the dates and they are older although his post had June 1 on it. I didn't put too much belief in them. :)

Casey is a PF, no? I don't see him overlapping with the guys we have on the wings either way.
