C’mom man. Quite literally every school in the country would take Kofi yesterday. As far as the rest of your post-no winks are happening. OA genuinely wants Kofi back in C-U.
Plus they just got Tschweibe excuse spelling, we wanted him also.

Right after the announcement of him in portal. He was like interesting with they eyes signs. He was poking the bear. He wants us to all let him be him, but then pokes at us. I’m really glad he’s gone. Hard kid to cheer for imo.
What’s so great is that after he posted that, someone replied with something along the lines of “I wonder if Kofi’s mom was mad and is making him transfer” 😂

I saw that and about died laughing. Sometimes Twitter trolls have their usefulness.

I agree with your position. I don’t think you’ll hear his name again unless you search it on google.

I'm sorry, but college basketball is a business and finally the players can get a piece of the pie. There's no requirement for Kofi to be loyal to Illinois or worry about his legacy if he feels it's not in his best interest in getting to the NBA.
College basketball will be ruined by this. It will be as worthless to watch as the NBA in 10 years.

I don’t think it will be that bad, but it will be very different. Unfortunately I’m not as optimistic as others that we will excel in this new environment.

I’m interested where that line falls for ncaa tampering. You know they are close on a personal level and just talking to someone you are close to, and getting their input on your big life decisions, is not weird or unreasonable.

I agree, but we're talking about the NCAA. Reasonable doesn't factor into it.

I’m scared this will start a lot of animosity between players. Imagine how mad Adam Miller and his family would be if X player who is a superstar is getting paid 6 figures for deals, meanwhile Adam is schilling for potato chip delivery apps for a couple hundred dollars. It’s going to get ugly in my opinion.

It will be different. And from the reactions here, it makes me think a lot of people are in denial about how college basketball has been operating for the last several decades. NIL money should bring some of the hidden money above board. I tend to doubt the economics will be good for small market schools, but if you're in a P5, you probably have a pretty decent sized market to work with. And if you're one of the marquee schools in college basketball, you may have a bigger pie in terms of resources to throw at athletes, but the more you try to divide it up, the less competitive you'll be with each person you try to attract --basically the same as it is today.

Having more of the money above board, and more going to the athletes, is IMO a good thing. Been a long time coming.

Can a player entering the transfer portal take another full allotment of paid college visit?

The reason the NBA sucks is because the regular season is meaningless and too long. College basketball will always be great because of March Madness and the fact that every regular season game is meaningful

Let college students play college ball.

Let non students turn pro.

Problem solved.

College ball will lose some glitter, but there will still be action.

I don’t see any reason for him to go - I’d have to think his personal brand as an Illini can earn him a LOT of $$. But who knows what is going on behind the scenes with UK.
