If Luke is actually 6’8” as thick as he appears (at least thicker than RJ) with some college body-building is he a candidate to play the 4?

IMHO, timing is not the issue. Hutch must regain self-confidence and perform in front of 15000+ rabid/bloodthirsty/FF starved fans. He can regain timing with practice but the confidence and in-game decisions are only bred by in-game success.
As much as you try, and as high level as our practices might be if our Kofi/Garcia dreams come true, it’s still damn near impossible to simulate game speed, pressure situations, and game consequences in practice. Idk if timing is the word (I think it is in some way) but game rhythm will be a big deal for him.

Game pace might be where Hutch will struggle....Also, i wonder what his tolerance will be as far as minutes per game......hope he can last all season , as the reports have my attention.......

I may be reading into this too much, but this is the background of monte's most recent insta post, and hutch looks a bit taller than RJ and about the same height as luke... maybe its just the angle, but hutch looks a bit taller than 6'6...

Goode looks bigger than RJ and wonder if he is not more of a possibility at the 4 than RJ. Weight on roster is only +5 but appears more than that.

Speaking of freshmen, do we have any practice reports on how they are acclimating/performing?

Heard that RJ has really opened some eyes recently
I had a feeling that he might surprise many, based on the clips posted here......

Thanks for the info...I really really really really mean that...........

I really really really really do...............

Awesome. He has league potential to me. I actually watched his highlights last night and came away thinking he was underrated for sure. 6’7, coordinated, quick, and can shoot. 1-2 years of physical development? Watch out.

Two players who I think hold the most sway in how the season goes...

1. Coleman Hawkins
2. Austin Hutcherson

If Coleman can be a legit threat as a stretch 4, with the ability to pass it from the high post and if Hutcherson is legit as healthy as it looks in that video...then I can see us being a solid BIG10 team...not a top ranked team, but definitely suprise some people and get back into the tournament.

I think if those things happen, we will be competing for the B1G title and a top seed again.

I will add a third: adding one more competent, bouncy big.

Watching Tre Young in the playoffs, all I could see was Belo with a competent jump shot. Belo reads and solves defenses the way Tre does. Belo is not on Tre’s level yet but I don’t think college defenses will be able to stop him. He was unstoppable at times last year.

A rotation of Coleman/Grandison/BBV at the 4 should be solid. But Payne is really our only rotation ready 5. Kofi would be amazing, but all we really need is a one more guy who can protect the rim, set screens and can catch lobs.

Brad seemed to trust BBV at center towards the end of the year. Also, Coleman showed a propensity for blocking shots. If the 5 can play defense, rebound and catch passes to dunk, the other 4 spots should be able to score a lot. But yes, another 5 would be ideal (especially if it is a certain 7' Jamaican).

Need Coleman to get all Warren Carter on us

i think one person we tend to all forget about is Da’Monte’s offensive game. If he can continue his shooting from last year then I think this team is going to put up a ton of points and will win some very high scoring games. Brad Underwood’s style before Kofi and Ayo was a lot of spreading the floor and 4-5 guys who can shoot the 3. He can do that again now. Expect Frazier and Plummer to fill it up too
