In all fairness to BBV I don't think he was cleared to play until midseason last year. That's a lot of missed conditioning and practice. Looked like JC in short pants in limited minutes his first exhibition game as a frosh on B1G+ network vs. Danville Community College or whoever they were playing. I wouldn't count on him for guaranteed big minutes but wouldn't write him off yet either.
He was cleared medically Dec 8th. First game was Jan7th, but IIRC he was available a game or two before that. You are correct that its hard to get into game shape and get on the floor once the rotation has been established.

Every time I watch Hutch clips, I try to think of who the heck he reminds me of. At first I thought it was Zach Lavine, but he seems a little stiff to match that, plus Lavine is really super athletic and fluid.

Kevin Martin. That is my comparison.

Wondering if our new staff will be better at preventing those slow starts to games and 2nd halves where afterward BU would say the team wasn't following the game plan, bringing the energy, or executing what they had been coached to do against that opponent. From the outside, seemed like there was an odd disconnect at times getting players to execute what was intended.

Would be great if we don't see those head scratchers and are more consistent throughout the season.

Don't see that. MPJ has more of a bully ball game because he has size and athleticism. Maybe we haven't seen it yet but I don't think Hutch has a post up game.

MPJ shoots alot of 3 balls. And I'm pretty sure the big intrigue of Hutch is his athleticism. As far as the post game, that's where the shorter comes in to play.

I get Lavine vibes from his frame, shooting, and bounce. A bit more stiff like you said tho. Of course, Lavine is a high bar for athleticism lol

I’d go with a less smooth, less athletic Levine. Not many people are as smooth or athletic as him so it’s not like is some sort of slight.

A Poor Man’s Scottie Pippen without the ranting and subsonic bassy vocals.
