I heard the relationship has been strained between the staff and Reggie Bass due to some alleged attitude issues. I figured his commitment might be on shaky ground after the Harris get, and would think even more so if/when Epps commits. Obviously would love to snag all 3 guards, but if we Bass is a recruiting casualty for the sake of Epps, you have to take that swap every time.

I've seen murmurs of this/these rumors. No idea if they're true, but I know that Reggie Bass was liking a bunch of Illinois related stuff as of Saturday.

Personally, he’s not a highly touted recruit so I don’t want any kid whose attitude isn’t worth the reward. It would be one thing if he was a top 40-50 player. It only takes 1 bad seed to ruin locker room chemistry.
That being said I hope this isn’t true.

Taking highly rated kids with attitude problems is hardly risk free. See: Richmond, Jereme

is this "rumored attitude issue" aimed at the recruitment of other lead guards or is this attitude issue independent of additional recruitments?

I heard at a recent tournament he was having meltdowns and screaming at teammates and sulking. Apparently its an ongoing issue. That leads me to believe its an independent issue but I won't pretend to know the plans or agenda of the staff first hand.

Could also been seen as overly competitive and something we think we could channel.

Disagree. How many times have we seen lowly ranked kids explode? If staff wants a kid, not going to question it (too much, lol). They've earned the benefit of the doubt. WRT to highly rated kids with attitude problems, that raises a big red prima donna flag for me.

Just to be clear, these are general comments, not recruit-specific. WRT Bass, we'll have to wait and see what staff does. The attitude issue is out there, but blind speculation by the fanbase is not good (despite it being the standard).

Epps is being recruited by several teams. Young kids like to be whined & dined....seeing the coaches in the stands to watch them all over America. They eat it up. Picking a school now would end it was all the losing coaches. Fans all over America are talking about him on the internet/podcasts. Some want to end the madness....some don't want it to stop!
