Let's address some of the more ridiculous points here (the others are fine).

Attended an AAU event in Atlanta that the UK staff *coincidentally* were attending
Every major staff in the country had people attending that event. It was a major AAU event. He even met with our staff there. This is a useless data point.

Hasn’t been seen in Champaign in weeks.
He has not currently officially part of next year's roster and is currently exploring his options, so I am not sure why he would be around Champaign right now.

Has he even met in person with BU since entering the portal? I’ve seen no confirmation.
Several people with "insider" status have said that he has. Whether you believe that or not is your call. He was photographed (at the AAU event you cite above) sitting with Geoff Alexander as well.

Kofi has made no secret that we wants to start earning. What one school in America is most ready to pay players? I mean, be real.
All of them now that NIL is been explicitly allowed.

But sure, keep the faith.
I have no faith that he is staying or going, but at least support your opinion with sensible arguments. The above are not.

We will know sometime Friday of Kofi's decision.....So be it ........Nothing that has been said , done or otherwise been deciphered leads me to guess-timate
his decision , but one thing is clear............

I’m the opposite. Rationally, I would imagine if he were changing schools he’d visit a few (including KY) and be measured with the decision versus staying where he would be less compelled to look. This is also on the heels of the TA hire.

My heart on the other hand expects to be broken.
I thought the same thing originally about not visiting Kentucky. Then I realized....its Kentucky. It sells itself. In this situation and the state of cbb, I don't even think a visit is required. You know what you're getting in Kentucky. Hope hope hope I'm wrong and it is an indication he's coming back.

I disagree. Objectively Kentucky has a lot of players to fight with for points/rebounds and BU’s system thrives on a big man stretching the floor. With Belo at point, I imagine BU has been discussing that their offensive scheme would plan for more open lane and high post action and a lot of slashing off the ball to help his assist numbers.

Entered portal.

Spoke glowingly of OA and Kentucky to an ESPN reporter.

Told Coleman in an IG Live that he’s never coming back.

He also hasn’t visited Kentucky and scheduled his announcement days after we hired an AC who specializes in preparing prospects for the NBA draft.

Also, why is Kentucky a more favorable NIL destination? Would he be the star of the team there? Is the Kentucky market larger in reach and money than Illinois? What is the National brand really worth to him?

You've found the right deciding factor (the hiring of an assistant coach), but at the wrong destination.

Everything pointing to Illinois right now. Brad and co feel good. All I will say for a while but like our chances right now. We need this as a fanbase.

Forgive me, but that's essentially what you said recently concerning Dawson Garcia. Hope you're on target this time

Just surprised he wouldn’t want to see the facilities, visit with Cal to find out more about their system and how he’d fit it and see if the food is any good.

I’m looking at it as much through a staying/leaving lens as I am through an Illinois/Kentucky lens. If you’re leaving, you are really not going to entertain any other school but one? It’s a big decision. I’m a casual fan, so when I say Georgetown, that is just my limited insight. But why wouldn’t you talk to Coach Ewing? Or any other coach that offers a unique insight into how to grow you as a player? Brand is certainly part of the decision, but it’s too big to ONLY be about brand which is the implication with no visit.

All of this (with the possible exception of money, which is maybe a wash, but probably advantage: UK).

Anybody viewing this through an objective lens would put it at under 5% that he comes back.
Respectfully......Why advantage UK with the Chicago market as a revenue source?

So, I might like to be the odd man out, but we lost last year with a lot of talent. Not taking away from Kofi's talent, but some things, like awareness (Monte, Ayo) to others is not one of his strong suits. So, if we get a couple people who can share the role, but can pass out of bad situations, spot the open man, and not try to power everything, I think we could be better for it. Fix the four, and the five doesn't have to prolific, except on the defensive end. I think we could end up being better, less predictable this year. Just my opinion.
This...

Baylor ran us out of the gym and they had nobody that was remotely like Kofi. I enjoyed watching Kofi, as he was a beast of a talent and a great young man. I do think we have a better chance at a championship with a 5 that can pass well and make a higher % of free throws. Flyin Illini part 2....

I can't believe the view that we can match Kentucky $$$. Calipari has made payoffs a fine art-way ahead of us. Deep pockets support that team and Kofi can name his price .

What does OA offer this upcoming year that he didn’t already give the past two years? Continued friendship? If this was all about loyalty to OA, why did he wait as long as he did? He has more to lose going somewhere else than he can possibly gain.
