I find it fascinating that some of the same posters who sometimes criticize "insiders" for not including phrases like "in my opinion" or "based upon my best guess" in positive predictions are also forgetting to include similar phrases in their own negative prognostications.

My view:
- when insiders post “staff feeling good”, they’re likely telling the truth but it doesn’t mean much - as the kids/camps try to keep all suitors feeling good until close to the end
- when insiders post “staff moving on”, that’s bankable. So I guess we hope to hear that from UK insiders?
- when a very select few, like steumke for example, post - it’s because they heard something definitive before it’s made it to the mainstream (beat writers).

This feels like Kofi maybe is tilting toward Illinois at the moment, but somehow UK will miraculously swoop in at the 11th hour with an incredible NIL deal that’s too good to pass up and Kofi will “flip” sometime late Thursday night/early Friday morning.

For those complaining about how "insiders" participate on this forum, is the above what you want every post on here to look like? Really? Or are you just flailing in search of a scapegoat for your frustrations and general dissatisfaction? You're sad that something happened or didn't happen and it was different from what you wanted. No problem. That's natural. But it's not always someone else's fault when you feel that way.

To be fair, people will readily accept someone who made an account on July 13th, 2021 and have 1 post as an insider. Pick and choose what to believe and recognize that you should take it with a grain of salt. Things change and you're getting information about an ongoing decision. You have no one to blame, but yourself when what you thought would happen doesn't happen. This is a FREE message board. No one owes you any assurance.
A dark day was the announcement of the slush fund scandal. I’d love Kofi to come back as much as anybody, but ILLINI basketball will continue to provide much joy in the future, no matter the decision. We still have awesome players and coaches coming back! Hopefully Kofi sees that too.
