Bodes well for him. You would think some/most of these national analysts are plugged into the feedback that teams are giving prospects during workouts in the last few weeks. All it takes is real interest from one team
Fact that it's 3 people producing that makes it seem potentially more reliable too. Not just some random dude or one ill-informed source.

Edit: welp, nvm. Each guy is making their own pick. I get the impression they're basing the picks off what they'd do and not what they're hearing from teams. (though hopefully at least one team in the top 20 is thinking like Norlander)

I've really seen him all over the place lately. It looked like he was sliding last week, but a few mocks this week have been more favorable.

I think the 2 things that are going to stand out are the 39 inch vert he jumped and the 6'10 wingspan. Both a great numbers for a 6'5 guard.

I firmly believe he goes in the first round and am hoping he can get in the high 20's. As a huge Bulls fan, I'd love to see him get to 38 lol, but if that happens something went very wrong.

I'm rooting so hard for him and am looking forward to watching on Thursday. I'd love to see him go to an established team and learn for a year or two.

My Bulls fandom admittedly took a big hit during the GarPax era, but I'm not sure I see that as a good fit even if they were to trade up for him. They already have a similar guy in Coby White (not to mention Lavine, but who knows if he'll still be there), and a lot of their recent draft picks haven't really shown much improvement. Until this new regime earns it back, I don't trust them to provide a good structure for development or build a quality roster.

All of this. I want Ayo to land somewhere that'll help his NBA longevity, not languish.

Yeah that 39 inch vertical is, how do I say this, generous? He’s probably 33-34 inches tops. His standing reach at the combine was five inches shorter than when he was measured in HS…

That said, teams know they aren’t drafting an uberathlete (by NBA standards). It might have been that SI write up that characterized him as a B- to B+ at everything at the NBA level. I love that characterization of his game. Ready to contribute and that will mean a lot to teams at the end of the first round.

Ohhhh so did mine no doubt...it was unbearable at times.

Yea, I agree on the fit...its more just the fan in me, it would be even more fun to root for him on my favorite team, but I don't think there is much of a chance we get him.

Well, he was measured at that. My point is that its just a better number to see. I don't think teams put too much stock in it, but for a later round pick its much better to see that then a 28.

The standing reach was/had to be a typo because that just isn't possible.

I think he can be a very good backup combo guard in the NBA, be able to defend and play with high IQ. Needs a left hand and to keep working on that shot. I hope he has a long career.

Nice write-up:

Enjoyed reading that. I had a great mid-court seat at the Michigan game where he had a career game, and won it with that unconcious shot over Simpson before the buzzer. The Michigan faithful sitting around me were numb from his beatdown by the time that shot went through. Fun to see it again.

He showed more hops this year for sure, how do you get generous with a vertical? It is what you hit. Not saying he's Uber either but...heard he gave Hutch everything he wanted jumping wise last year./s

The writer had Brad Underwood level praise for Ayo.

The vert is measured against your reach. I’m assuming the poster is saying he sandbagged his reach, since it is 5 inches lower than high school. Those 5 inches get added to his vertical when he fully extended on his jump. But if he didn’t sand bag his reach, his vert would have been 34.

I wonder why he reached so high in high school. Even in high school hoops, we all knew to sandbag that first reach.

NBA combines know what they are doing....probably not their 1st rodeo.....why trying to diminish Ayo's combine stats?

This! I was thinking the same thing! Like we care whether his vertical was exaggerated! We want him to look as good as possible! People pointing out negatives for what? Just cheer him on and let's hope he gets drafted as high as possible and help new recruits want to follow in his footsteps to the 🔶🔷💪🏾💪🏾💯💯 baby!

They aren’t mutually exclusive—I want Ayo to get drafted high and can also point out a pretty significant discrepancy in his measurements.
