One of my main complaints about the squad last year was that the staff—for all their talk about positionless basketball—constructed a very traditional roster.

Loyola was a good team that had the personnel, scheme and experience to neutralize a great deal of what made Illinois such a great team in B1G play.

That game was a perfect microcosm of the B1G’s 21 year title drought.
I don't expect a big change until Kofi is gone or he develops something of an outside game. Underwood goes with the strengths of his players, and that mean't old school basketball.

Have we heard how any of the freshman look in practices or get together?
We haven’t heard much from insiders on that. I heard Curbello say in an interview that the freshman look good. But that was after he was specifically asked, so what else is he going to say?

I can't hate on him. But it's easy to hate on Kentucky and I'll continue to do that.

Yes, we'll get in their bracket. Hopefully they get upset before they play us.
I would like to see Kofi vs Tscweibe we recruited him hard as well. Sorry on the spelling.

I see your point, but it doesn't change anything. I would say Coleman is still clearly taller. You can even just use Podz as a benchmark between the two.
If they are all standing different distances from the camera, then you cannot honestly determine their heights relative to one another. Those aren't my rules; that's just optics.

Or else the Eiffel tower is a lot smaller than I thought...

In this case though, Payne isn't the Eifel Tower and he isn't standing far enough back for it to distort. I would say having your arm around someone isn't enough to constitute someone is standing far back to distort a camera's perception of height. Exhibit B, refer to Podz & Payne's shoes and it's even clear in the photo that he's right next to Podz. That is enough for me to deduce that Coleman is taller.

Where's the Zapruder film?

If we can figure out the angle of the camera to the group ( don’t believe it is at 90) and the length of Payne’s shoes (surely his shoe size is available information) someone with engineering skills (we do have engineers at UIUC I believe) could probably solve this problem without 18 pages of discussion. Sadly, these skills are far beyond my JD.

Lol dude.

They are standing in a field with uneven surface. It's a candid shot which all but certainly lends itself to uncertain posture .

My deduction is that the 5 year old told Hawk he'd be 4th guy off the bench and wouldn't be able to cut it on the Romanian basketball league so Hawk stood up straighter to really show up the little twerp.

You've made a separate deduction - which is fine. I stand by mine. We'll find out in the near future.
