Week 1 Games

Minny looked good on offense until Ibrahim went down. On defense, though, there were many issues with both the run and the pass. Two months before we play them, so who knows by then.

These announcers and officials couldn’t be any more pro Ohio State. Two huge missed pass interference calls and this targeting not called with 4 min left.

So many big plays for the Buckeyes

Yeah, they have weapons, weapons, and more weapons. Seriously talented RBs and WRs. They look a bit vulnerable on defense though. I think part of that is the game plan Minney ran --they had good play calling and opened up the field about as well as could be expected.

tOSU reminded me yesterday of a couple recent Oklahoma teams. Ridiculous offense, but so-so defense. I suppose even that's not a great comparison because the QB is unproven. They have a long way to go but it's early. They are going to blow a lot of teams out with their offensive talent.

People praising OSU's QB and his initial performance must have watched a different game. The guy is playing with ridiculous talent and looked very average. Look at all of his TD throws--they were to people who had at least 5 yards on their defender. Anything that needed to be a tight throw was way off, including his INT. I agree that they will dominate some teams with the talent surrounding him, but they are going to have a lot of high scoring close games too. Definitely nowhere near a national title contender IMO with that average defense.

It was his very first collegiate game, and his team's first game of the season. He had some solid throws in the second half. You're going to see a lot of QBs miss throws this early in the season, especially the new ones.

As Illinois fans, I think some of us have become "spoiled" seeing young QBs come in and light up Lovie's defense. They would rarely miss. Mertz last year, the UConn QB the year before...

Watching this VT vs UNC game it's pretty good so far. Hokies up 17-7 and just stopped a UNC 4th down conversion attempt to get the ball back in NC territory. VT's crowd looks awesome and they are really into this game.

Edit: And just like that UNC interception off a forced throw by VT QB.
Edit #2: And just like that a VT interception on a tipped UNC pass.

lol

What the hell was this UNC coach doing not using his time outs when calling run plays. Sure at that exact moment it might not of been that big of a deal but every second wasted put more pressure on his offense. That reminds me of Zook level of time mismanagement.

Woof, Northwestern is terrible.

In less happy news, Charlotte might be good. Beating Duke late.

It seems they always look like that early.
Northwestern gets on the board on 4th and goal.

MSU 21
NU. 7

Might be one of the best opening weeks in a long time and we even have some quality opening week B1G games. Among the top games today include Penn State-Wisconsin, Alabama-Miami (FL) in Atlanta, Indiana-Iowa, Louisiana-Texas, Georgia-Clemson, and LSU-UCLA.

Among the state schools you have EIU at South Carolina (with the Gamecocks starting a grad assistant at QB), NIU at Georgia Tech, and Butler at ISU.
