Mebbe. Probably. But if those guys are shining, perhaps we did a lot better with the portal than the "experts" think.
Practice hasn't even started yet. You've been around long enough to know that "rumors" pop up every offseason about some newbie that has yet to don the jersey who is going to be the straw that stirs the drink. These two will likely find their roles off the bench this year. We don't need for them to be stars. I'll be pleased if they can replace the production of Adam and Giorgi.

GMAB. Good to know that the caution police are doin' their thing.

Do you expect them to start? Do you expect them to outproduce Adam and Giorgi?
I am betting Payne outproduces Giorgi, both offensively and towards the extreme end defensively. If you simply look at last year's stats Plummer out-performed Miller pretty significantly. It's definitely not unrealistic to expect both of them to, both off the bench.

I doubt Plummer plays as many minutes as he did last year, so it's unlikely he puts up the same scoring numbers. And I doubt he defends as well as Miller who was very solid on that end. Payne should be a (way) better defender than Giorgi, but I don't seem him scoring a lot.

We'll see. Plummer was the second scoring option for Utah vs. the fourth option for Miller. I don't think he'll get that number of shots for us. I see him as option four or five for us. Payne played more minutes per game than Giorgi but averaged fewer points. He may not get those 16 minutes for us.

Plummer will easily outscore Miller!! He can get his shot anytime he wants to. He has no conscious. Outside of Curbelo he has the best handle!!

So, in the 2019-20 season, Plummer came off the bench (as he most likely will with us) and averaged 15.2 minutes a game. During those minutes, he averaged 8.4 points while shooting 46.7 fg%, 42.0 3p%, and 75 ft%. Miller last season averaged 25.5 minutes a game where he averaged 8.3 points while shooting 39.1 fg%, 34 3p%, and 68.4 ft%.

I've said this previously, I don't think people realize how good Plummer is. He's a drastically more efficient offensive player than Miller. Even off the bench, he's gonna bring a heck of a lot more to the table offensively than Miller did last year.

Plummer off the bench needs to be an efficient scorer, not a volume scorer. If he goes 7/9 one night and has 18 points, awesome. What we can't have is him going 2/8 for 5 points. His efficiency numbers and ability to get a shot for himself and others will be his true value to our team. Outside of Curbelo and most of the time, Ayo, we could get super stagnant. I'm hoping Hutch and Plummer allow for more of those opportunities by being able to score inside and out while having the ability to get by people and either finish or pass it off for Kofi.

I could see this year's AM be a far more efficient scorer than last year's (he was a Freshman after all), but if the question is whether Plummer will be a more productive (from an efficiency standpoint) player offensively than AM was last year, it would be genuinely shocking to me if he wasn't. I am far less optimistic about Payne's offensive output, but think he will be a plus defender, and I actually think I'd rather have that in the backup center than someone who can score but can't defend. Without seeing them play in BU's system, I think it's still a question mark whether Payne/Plummer > Giorgi/AM, but the potential is there and I don't think even in the worst case scenario there would be a huge drop-off.
