Can Whitmore visited Villanova on Friday. We haven’t heard of him committing yet…. Chester and Brad have not given up. Could the final push from the Illini get him to Champaign?

Whitmore put this picture on his story last night... don't know if it means something or if he just really likes the picture, but I don't like it.

Scott Burgess on '23 Asa Thomas: "Thomas bumps up to the top of the board (wings) after a completely dominant summer. Out of all the highly ranked prospects at Riverside Brookfield he was the talk among college coaches. At his size he can get his shot off from pretty much anywhere he wants. Elite shooter from three that moves well without the ball to get open. Also really like how he can post up smaller defenders and has a crafty in between game."

Sounds like more than a spot up shooter to me.

Definitely does. Sounds like he has some Hutchinson in his game maybe? Without the leaping ability

Rodgers: looks like a 3 horse race: us, MSU and Xavier (then again, I could be wrong). Hard to bet against MSU, but TA (and a concerted effort by staff) has made us a legit consideration.

I've only seen Rodgers' videos. For anyone that's seen him in extended play, what are your thoughts? Whitmore jumps out at the screen when you watch him - he's just such a high-level athlete. Rodgers I don't see the same, but that doesn't mean he's not a good prospect.

If us, MSU, Mich, and Xavier are after him, he must be pretty good.

You need a guy like Rodgers to win a title (2 is obviously better). Yeah, his athleticism isn't as eye popping as Whitmore's, but that guy is kind of a unicorn (for us, anyway). Rodgers is a VG athlete. Combine that with basketball savvy, skill and competitiveness, and you really have something. To be clear, Whitmore > Rodgers. But Whitmore's going to Nova (I think) and Rodgers ain't chopped liver.

He certainly looks tough as nails.

Whitmore looks like Vince Carter out there.

Bama was after him hard too, but they're about to land a 5 star SF (Mitchell, IIRC).

For being a football school, Bama basketball certainly recruits at a high level. Anyone but Kentucky, Duke, or UNC would be envious of what they've brought in.

It's Oates, not so much Bama.
