Art played in 2+ games and had 6-7 INTs dropped by the defense....would y'all still be wanting to see him had the defense caught those?

I mean...probably not?

But I like that he seems to take more risks. That's what we need at QB right now. INT's gonna happen.....but this playing not to lose crap makes me want to kill baby seals.

Ok not really. Maybe just yell mean things at them.

It was probably 20k last Saturday. I agree that 50k is a high projection, but 40-45k should be reasonable. Good start time against a below average Wisky team. Two years ago it was an 11 am start against them on Homecoming as a 2-4 team as well. 37k was the reported attendance. It feels a lot different this season going into this game, though.
That game turned out pretty good, if I recall..

This is the best defense that our quarterback, who is arguably the worst starting big 10 qb, will have gone up against this year. Their linebackers and secondary will overwhelm him.

I expect the defense to play well though.

My first Illinois football game ever (and first trip to Champaign) was vs. Wisconsin in 2005 as an eight grader. We lost, but it was a beautiful day, there was a nice crowd (52k+, per Wikipedia) and it was the moment I decided (rather, confirmed!) I loved Champaign and wanted to attend the University of Illinois. Out-of-state tuition got in the way of that goal and I wound up going elsewhere, but that was a great memory.

Here's to another beautiful day (weather for C-U looks awesome!), a good crowd (which I now consider to be above 45k......) and a very different result that ends in an Illini victory!

I see Dana Howard will be on the BTN tailgate thing, which made me think, why do we never hear from Simeon Rice?

Not sure. I still remember when he was introduced on the NFL on Sunday night football, he never said “Illinois”; it was always “the school of hard knocks”. Some part of me was a little sad by that.

*If* Illinois can get some QB play, this prediction won't hit, but until someone, anyone, shows up at QB the Illinois offense won't score a TD vs. Wisconsin.

WI - 20
IL - 9

Game Day ladies and gents! I know the odds are against us but wouldn't it be great to see us pound it down their throat for 200+ yards rushing with Chase and Josh. 17-10 ILLINI Lets Go

This is about what I expect. The defense plays well enough to win and keep us in the game, but a 10 point deficit feels like 40 and we have no chance. However, since it is homecoming, I’m willing to be wrong. 🤨🥳

He made a brief appearance on the scoreboard last week. I think it might have been a third down, and he said something about stopping their offense. It was pretty quick, so most fans probably didn't even see it.

I had forgotten about. It does seem like he has distanced himself from the university.

On the way to Champaign in my Kam's Miracle shirt. October 19, 2019 was one of the best days of my life, and I'm hoping for something even close to that elation today.

Go Illini.

I had the BTN tailgate on for a little bit. The Grove has lots of open space right now. :(

I like the Galloping Ghost uniforms and we have historically had some success in them. Oh well!

I kind of warmed up to them, but I also don't mind seeing them axed for Homecoming ("We should be wearing Orange Blue on Homecoming," etc., etc.). I just want us to stop mixing and matching, and I want our uniforms to carry some weight when each is worn. As I have argued before, I think this should be our uniform setup 99% of the time:

Home: O/B/O
Away: O/W/O
vs. Northwestern: LOOK LIKE THE BEARS! (B/B/W at home, B/W/B on the road, B/O/W for "special occasions" or whatever)

I'd be fine with this O/B/B look being for Homecoming or select big/night games. What I think REALLY needs to stop, though, is seeing three road games consecutively where we wear, for example, O/W/O, O/W/W and B/W/B or something like that. Pick a look.

Simeon Rice did a "Make some noise" spot that plays on the score board during a crucial 3rd down play!
