Looking at our non con, I don't see many games we shouldn't be favored in before January. Arkansas will probably be the closest one, followed by Marquette then Arizona and Mizzou. But I think we can win all of those if we play to the best of our ability, something we struggled with last year.
I hope we blow Mizzou out of the water....but past history would suggest that this game will be a rock fight with predicting the winner being a toss up at best....although I expect (as every year) we should win

It’s no excuse, but every time we play Mizzou it is effectively an away game.
Not really. St. Louis is slightly closer to Columbia than C-U and the fan base there probably leans slightly towards Miznoz but probably like 55-45. There always seems to be a ton of orange in the crowd and I feel the the actual distribution probably changes depending on who's good.

You are an argumentative fellow aren’t you? Well, you kind of made my point already, so there really isn’t much to say. St Louis is closer to Columbia, it’s in the home state of the University of MISSOURI, and the crowd leans Missouri. All of those seem to support my point that it is not actually an away game, but “effectively” an away game.

sorry, but "effectively an away game." in my mind. It's a neutral court game.

I grew up in the area man, there are tons of Illini fans there. And yes STL is in Missouri, but you do realize St. Louis is right on the border right? Like, Illinois is 5 minutes away. It's 2 hours from Columbia and 3 from C-U. Not a huge difference for fans motivated enough to travel. If 55% of the fans are for the other team and 45% are for us, that's a far cry from "effectively an away game."

I am well aware of the geography of St Louis. The Illinois side is about 500k people and the Missouri side is 2MM. Yes. CU is not much further than Columbia. But…Where do the majority of Illinois graduates live? The Chicago area. Which is 5 hours from STL. Where do most Missouri graduates live? St Louis.

Mizzou is supposed to be weak, but we should have beaten last year. Pickett will likely channel his inner Dwayne Wade. But they can't match us in any meaningful way. We should beat them by 12 minimum.

What about Indiana in Indianapolis? That is probably a closer approximation.

I’ve been to bears cowboys game in the new cowboys stadium that were like home games for the bears. If your fans travel well enough to flip the atmosphere it can really give that home feel.

I'm glad we'll be continuing with the kinder and gentler rock fight rather than using blades and guns. And yes, we should win the Miznoz game this year.
