I'm so happy to officially announce that with Coach Brad's help I have been approved by the B1G to be the lead announcer for the Fighting Illini's two exhibition game with the following conditions.................

I am not allowed to use the word SCHMACK or the phrase "" Boom Goes The Dynamite """"
They kinda want me to be a Bill Walton kinda guy...........I said OK by me , I can handle that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a thought....this would be a great game for Kofi to begin passing out of the post....we know he will be able to dunk when he wants, so begin the process.

That depends upon what BU wants to see in the 1st game of the season. He may want to establish a certain mentality outside of what fans desire.

Agree, but Kofi's stock goes up if he adds this to his toolbox and I'm sure within limits BU is all in. It also unlocks a new wrinkle that makes us so much better, I also think he plays no more than half the game unless we aren't serious and let it get close.

Flip side. Kofi’s career field goal percentage is 59.7%. If we truly have great shooting this year as has been presented (example: Baylor’s 5 guys >= 40% last year) it’s actually more efficient (slightly but more) for defenses to allow kofi to go 1v1 rather than give up the open 3 to one of the shooters.

Basically, opponents implementing our philosophy that we have employed vs Michigan the last few years. Meaning if they attach to shooters he won’t have to pass out of the post at all. And, worst case defensive scenario, you can still foul kofi in select situations, and you have a good chance to win the possession defensively.

A lot of ifs, just a potential situation to consider.

I'm interested in how many times Kofi recognizes the double is coming and is able to get it to the shooter. It's not an easy skill to pick up, and he's generally dealt with double teams with power.
