About as good of an outcome as we could get in the Iowa game today. Long, hard-fought, emotional win. They got out-gained by nearly 150 yards.

Minnesota racked up over 40 minutes of offense too, so that defense spent a lot of time on the field.

After watching Iowa get outplayed by a team that we matched up pretty well against last week I'm cautiously optimistic about this Iowa game. Now if we can just figure out this offense.

Do my eyes deceive me? Is Kansas up on Texas 35-14 at the half?

That's something the SEC has done for a while, give big teams a week off so they can schedule a patsy before the stretch run.

^This. Though Alabama's came a week earlier than normal as most of the SEC schools do it the week before the rivalry game on Thanksgiving weekend. For example, the following SEC teams play lesser teams next week:

-Texas A&M: vs. Prairie View A&M
-Mississippi State: vs. Tennessee State
-Tennessee: vs. South Alabama
-LSU: vs. Louisiana-Monroe
-Georgia: vs. Charleston Southern
-Kentucky: vs. New Mexico State

They’re new QB definitely looks the part, but I wouldn’t say their offense is “fixed”. Still only had 277 yards of offense. 72 of those coming on one play. Had just 71 yards on the ground.
Iowa's qb had a couple long balls completed, but a couple other weren't particularly close, and he had a couple shorter passes that could have been picked. I think our dbs are better than Minnie's. Iowa's run defense gave up a LOT of yards on cutbacks and wide pitches. And I think our running backs would have done even better.
I think it's definitely winnable. But we'll need to play well, and avoid turnovers.

Texas pulled off the comeback and took it to OT. TX scored first and kicked it. KU scored and went for 2. And caught it! Wow, that was fun!

Armenian Charlie Strong was one of the most baffling hires I can remember.

It's one thing if you find yourself scrambling after folks turn you down, that happens even at the elite of the elite programs with a dose of bad luck.

But Tom Herman was pretty decent and they paid a colossal buyout to TARGET Sark. Insanity.

Boy, this is a train wreck. Its so bad, it’s hard to look away. Tom Herman didn’t fit the culture in Austin but man, with Sark, this looks like a total collapse. Did you hear the leaked video on the bus leaving Ames from last week? DLine Coach chewing out his kids…It was bad….

So so so sick of people and their "unwritten" rules. If you don't want the other team to score on you, stop them. That's the whole friggin' point of the game. Riley is soft and he's gonna get eaten alive in the SEC.
Also, per the reporting on ESPN, "point differential between teams is the third tiebreaker in the league's rules."

I mean, okay it's unlikely to matter, and poor little OU deserves a break once in a while, but could you imagine if they didn't tack on the FG and it did come down to points?!

Well the written tells you how the tiebreakers work so he’s doing his best to position his team.

These guys also get extended/fired and bonuses based on wins and losses and championship game appearances etc. So if he tiebreaks his way into the championship game he’s advancing his program and his well-being.

The "Hornheads" are nothing if not arrogantly foolish.
